• more new patterns

It’s show-and-tell for Squirrelly Girl.  She’s excited to show you some of her squirrelly friends!  We’ve got four more patterns coming soon. Sugar Squirrels If I had to pick a fat quarter quilt to love, it would be this one.  I’m calling this Sugar Squirrels, and I’ve adapted it from my Sugar Bunnies quilt pattern.  If you love Autumn quilts, add this one to your list.  You can make the bias vines quickly with a 1/4″ bias maker, the applique is simple, and the star blocks are easy to piece. Need I say more?   Acorn Soup I love charm pack quilts and I designed Acorn Soup to use a…

  • Squirrelly Girl is coming soon!

While we’re hibernating in our homes, Squirrelly Girl has been out visiting everyone she can!  Our Moda reps may not be able to bring her to quilt shops in person, but they are doing their best to make sure everyone meets her.  She’s coming your way in August. Over the next few posts, I’ll be introducing you to her.  She’s been featured both in fabric and in my newest applique quilt!  I really hope it doesn’t go to her head (she’s a feisty one)!           We’ll be taking pre-orders for this Moda quilt kit in April, but please call your local quilt shop to ask if…

  • Let’s re-color a quilt

Let’s face it, new fabric has a shelf life, and within a year, it can be challenging to find.  What can you do when you find a quilt you want to make, but the fabric isn’t available anymore?  I’ll show you! Cottontail Cottage is the perfect spring quilt, and it’s so much fun to stitch, but by now, the fabric is almost impossible to find.  So, I went looking for a Moda fabric line with spring colors similar to Cottontail Cottage.  Here’s my original quilt: With the help of the fabric guide inside the pattern, I selected Summer Sweet by Sherri & Chelsi, and then Sue and I set out…

  • My Sweet Peanut

I had to say goodbye to Peanut last week and it hurts so much I can hardly write this post. She’s been fighting IBD since we brought her home.  At first, her medications worked wonders, but slowly over time, they quit and we’ve had to try new ones. I knew it was bad when our vet referred us to a specialist and the chemo drug, she put her on didn’t work.  She told me there was nothing else they could do. I am so grateful for my time with her.  She loved me with every inch of her little being. When you rescue a dog, I have no doubt they…

  • Fat Quarter Bundle Country Christmas

    Emerging from the bat cave

I’ve announced the winners at the bottom of this post.  Thank you to everyone who left me a comment! I’m emerging from the “Bat Cave” once again, able to catch my breath and get back to blog posting.  For the last three weeks, I’ve been in “design mode”.  My friends know not to text me, call me or drop by during this design process because I’m not good company.  If you haven’t read about my pattern design process you can read about it here.  Nothing changes about this process except the deadlines and what I snack on. I have a “pre-market” fabric line this time so my deadline was today…

  • Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, everyone!  Are you excited for what most of us think of as a new beginning?  There are so many things I want to accomplish this year, and I’ve made a list, so I don’t forget any of them.  Remember last year when Marie Condo was the new thing?  Well, I’m still working on de-cluttering my closets, drawers, etc. so I guess she’ll be around in 2020 with me.  My pantry alone could take me a couple of days.  I need to take everything out and go from there.  Do you have any great ideas on how to organize a pantry?  Have you done yours lately, or do…
