As national dog day becomes national dog week at my house, we have a new addition to our family to tell you about! You know I have a weakness for Terriers, right? So meet our new perfectly imperfect senior, Tinkerbell. We’ve only had her for two months, but I am officially declaring her a family member. Actually, I declared her a family member on day one! She fits right in! She’s great with Chelsea, great with our kitties, and adores everyone she meets! ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We adopted her from Muttville, a senior dog rescue in San Francisco. Happy 4th!
I love the July 4th weekend, don’t you? It gives us extra time to sew, and more time to celebrate with family. Yesterday I made potato salad, enough to last through the weekend. Add a few burgers and we’re good to go. That should keep hubby happy and give me more time at the machine! I’m making little tags, from my Prairie Days tag fabric and I’ll be stitching them into the binding or seams of all my USA projects! Handmade tags for my handmade gifts! It’s time for block 35 for the Sewcialities sew-along from Fat Quarter Shop! If you’ve been following this sew-along, you should be very excited! After this block, there is only one block left, and then you can assemble and finish your quilt. This week’s block, designed by me, is called Compassion, and it’s super easy. If you’re making the 3″ version of this quilt, you’ll thank me for this easy one. Everyone should have success with this block because it’s designed for beginners. I feel like a celebrity today. I just got my advance copy from Martingale of the new book I’ve done with them, 101 Maple Street! That’s right, 101 Maple Street is now in book format, and it is beautiful! No one does books like Martingale Publishing, and I am so proud to be a Martingale Author.
