• Three Weeks

I have just spent the most incredible three weeks with these two little girls! Both speak English and German (yes, even Maya who is only 2). We baked chocolate chip cookies, colored pictures, played Candy Land, went for walks, picked roses and played with every toy I have. So many memories were made and they will have to last for another year. …and every morning, wind, rain or shine, Maya walked Chelsea with Milkshake with me. I hated to say goodbye.   Seeing them is such pure joy and saying goodbye is so painful.   I feel like this every time they come here, or I go to visit and it takes me…

  • Goodbye 2016, Hello 2017!

Join me this New Year’s Eve for a Bunny Hill giveaway!  It’s time to celebrate the end of a year and the start of another and I’ve been gathering up things to give away.   I brought some samples back from quilt market and found some other treats that Moda’s sent me over the last year.  I’ve got two fat quarter bundles of Sugar Plum Christmas, one fat eighth bundle, and an Aurifil thread kit.  I found some different designer rolls of wonderful Moda fabric groups so I’m giving those away too.  This giveaway will end tomorrow, on January 1st. and I’ll choose a total of eight winners.  It could…

  • A Trip to Magnolia

I’m a true Magnolia, Joanna and Chip Gaines fan.  I watch the HGTV show Fixer Upper (new shows start November 29th), I’ve subscribed to their newest magazine called The Magnolia Journal, and now I’ve finally had a chance to visit Magnolia Market, the destination in Waco that Chip & Joanna have created. Just after our visit to Moda , Karla, Barb, Mary, Doug and I drove to Waco.  We arrived on a Wednesday amid the pouring rain, but we were told we were lucky.   The shop looked busy to us, but apparently it was slow compared to weekend and non-rainy days.  The staff told us that people are usually lined up around the building to get in!  Of course we…

  • All the way from germany

After an 11 hour flight from Germany today, this little snow bunny named Maya and her sister Lily, will be in California with me! They’ve been teasing me with pictures like this… I can hardly wait!  They arrive this evening and after a long flight, going through customs, getting luggage etc. they may not think California is so great.  For the next few days jet lag will take over, but once we get past that, I have days of fun planned.  For the next week our weather will be in the 70’s with only a few days of rain in-between.   Best of all, the Easter Bunny is coming to my house this year! I’ve…

  • Little Maya has arrived!

There’s nothing like a new grandchild to make you feel good. It’s such a wondrous event.  Maya, my newest granddaughter, arrived on February 8th weighing in around 9 lbs. She’s Lily’s little sister. Lily has held her, kissed her and probably wondered in that head of hers, if she’s going to be going home sometime soon.  But as time passes they will get to know each other well, and life will be about bonding, sister fights, sharing and all the good things that we learn when a sibling comes along. I’ll have to be content to view pictures for a few more months, as I wait for them to travel from…

  • Designer Mystery has me dreaming of far away places

Take 12 Moda designers, add some Moda fabric, ask each designer to design a block and what do you get?  It’s another wonderful, cute,  fabulous Designer Mystery Quilt that you’ll find at The Fat Quarter Shop! Rows of houses and snowmen.  It’s such a cute quilt, and I designed one of the blocks for it.  As the mystery unfolds, you’re going to be glad you joined, because the finished quilt is adorable!  You’ll be able to use it the entire winter, and if I were making the quilt I’d be sure to personalize it for my family.  Embroider house numbers, street names, or family names on each block and you’ve got a quilt your family…
