My Sweet Peanut

I had to say goodbye to Peanut last week and it hurts so much I can hardly write this post. She’s been fighting IBD since we brought her home.  At first, her medications worked wonders, but slowly over time, they quit and we’ve had to try new ones. I knew it was bad when our vet referred us to a specialist and the chemo drug, she put her on didn’t work.  She told me there was nothing else they could do.

I am so grateful for my time with her.  She loved me with every inch of her little being. When you rescue a dog, I have no doubt they realize it.

Chelsea has been depressed and at first, she hardly ate.  Grief is something we all go through when we say goodbye to a beloved pet.  I’ve taken Chelsea for extra walks, given her extra love, and made sure she has lots of attention.  Tweety won’t let her walk across the room without giving her head-butts.  I captured this photo of Chelsea and Tweety together this week, looking out my studio window.

My sweet Peanut will be missed more than words can say.  Hugs to all of you who have lost a beloved pet.  You must know exactly how I feel.

Anne

All I can send is hugs and love.❤️ Time does take the sting away from the hurt, but they take a piece of us with them and leave a hole in our heart. I hope my little old man who crossed the rainbow bridge was there to meet Peanut,  and run free with her until they meet us again.🤗🙏🌈💔😥

Oh, Anne. I am SO, SO sorry to hear this. I never had the privilege of meeting Peanut in person, but her pictures are so precious, I feel as if I’ve lost one of my own. I know there is nothing anyone can say or do to make this better for you, but please know that we love you, we grieve with you, and that we’re praying for you. And, yes, pets definitely grieve, too. Love on them all.

My heart goes out to you. Before my rabbits died, I joked that they went to to the doctor more often than I did. So grive as long as you need too. But one day you’ll be able to remember all the joy and happiness he (or she) she gave you. For now my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Such a sad, sad time for you and for your other pets.  Losing a pet is definitely losing a family member.  Everyone grieves.  The wonderful memories remain.

My heart breaks for you.  I have lost my Pug 4 yrs ago, 4 months after losing him, I lost my Golden Retriever and then 4 months ago one of my cats. Our pets are family that’s why we hurt so deeply.  My thoughts are with you.  Hugs

Yes, it is always so hard to lose a beloved pet.  Just remember how much love and fun she brought into your life and dwell on how lucky she was to have been rescued, loved and cared for by you.

Anne – I am so sorry to hear about Peanut!  It’s so difficult to watch our beloved pets decline and especially hard when we get to the point that we can’t help them any longer.  Hugs to you and your family while you grieve.

I know exactly how you feel Anne I had to say goodbye to my dog Gizmo last November he was 17years old. My heart goes out to you. Our fur babies are so much part of our family. Sending hugs 💕

I’m so sorry for your loss. It is so hard to say good bye.  It’s been 2 weeks since we had to let my Elinor go.  My kitty had IBS and probably a lymphoma much too hard to treat.  My other cat also has IBS and a lymphoma but one that is responding to a pretty easy chemo regimen. She had a few days where she was grieving for Elinor but has pretty much come back to doing better now.  We do the best we can without putting them through too much treatment but it’s never easy.  I’m praying the happier memories soothe your soul and cheer you soon.

My heart goes out to you Anne, and I’m convinced that Peanut knew the immense measure of your love. I’m so glad Chelsea has Tweety for comfort and their picture proves that animals do have feelings. What a beautiful image! Big hugs to you as you navigate the grief ahead and find ways to celebrate Peanut’s life.

I am so very sorry about your sweet little Peanut.  I have experienced losing pets, and I do understand what a big space they leave when we lose them.  The nice thing they leave is all the precious memories.  Take care, Anne….love.

So sad to hear the news about Peanut, a pet holds a special place in our hearts and when they leave they take a part of that with them! 😔

I wanted to write and send you my love on the loss of your beloved Peanut.  My pet is a Beautiful Calico Cat and she is 17 years old.  I know she is close to her time because she sleeps all the time and won’t leave my side.  She sits above me on the couch and is always placing her paw on my back like the picture of your cat and puppy.  I have to tell you that one brought tears to my eyes.  I think she knows to and that is her way of comforting me.  Animals do in fact feel grief and your cat knows the dog is feeling it, she is trying to comfort him.  I love your blog and my prayers will be with you for healing from your loss.

I’m so sorry for your loss. When we lose our fur babies, it’s so hard. And, yes, our other fur babies do grieve as well. That pic is so sweet. Sending you big hugs.

Oh, Anne, I am so sorry for your loss.  Peanut was very lucky to have you for her person.  Try to think of her not as not gone…..but gone on ahead.   With heartfelt sympathy. ❤️

Awwww… it’s heartbreaking when we have to say goodbye to a fur baby. I do know the emptiness and pain you are feeling. It’s amazing how Tweety is comforting Chelsea… they will form a closer bond. Hugs to you all.

Insaid goodbye to my darling little Westie two years ago.  There isn’t a dat that goes by that I don’t miss her.  She was one of a kind, sharing unconditional love and joy.
I hope your other pets help to heal your grief.  🙏🏻
