Catching Up

Yesterday was another Moda deadline, and it feels good to cross it off my list.  We’ve been working on new designs for my next fabric line (the one coming after Crystal Lane).  Today I’m feeling a bit giddy because designs are finished, and we’ll be testing each one as we make them.  Since we’ve only worked with my new fabrics virtually on the computer, it will feel great to see them come alive in fabric!  Yardage arrived on Friday, so we’re going to be busy!

I don’t know how cats can find a piece of fabric anywhere, but cat owners know they can!   I was cutting fat quarters from my sample yardage and accidentally left one on my cutting table. When I turned around, I found Sylvester trying to get all four paws on that little fat quarter.  Hmmm… I wonder if he’s proud of himself!

So much for where I’ve been.  Let’s get on to more fun things!

When I got the Blue Spruce quilt back from my quilter, I really wanted to capture it the first time I saw it.  The excitement of seeing a quilt come alive is so special, and without thinking much about it, I grabbed my phone and started recording.

Becky brought these trees to life with her wonderful quilting.  It was such a joy to see!  After I finished the video I noticed that Becky had added a few snowmen in her quilting.  Look carefully and you may see one!

We’ll be adding the new Crystal Lane patterns to our website this week.   My Crystal Lane quilt is visiting The Fat Quarter Shop this week, and Kimberly may be showing it on her live stream if you’d like to see it.  We’ve got a lot of catching up to do, so stay tuned!

Happy New Year a little late!

Anne

Hi Anne, Absolutely LOVE the tree quilt-just so gorgeous and the quilting designs really finishes it perfectly! So love your designs!!
I laughed seeing the kitty sitting on the piece of fabric. Brought back memories of my sweet calico kitty Buttons-I had a hand quilting frame and she would curl up in the middle of it when I was not around and then I would not be able to figure out why my quilt looked like a hammock until I caught her red handed in the middle of the quilt!! I miss her so much!

Your quilt turned out wonderful. The quilting made the finishing touches, plus the snowman and the wind and all, so so wonderful.

Be still my heart! Precious pets *and* quilts, two of my most favorite things. The fabrics in this quilt are utterly charming, and the quilting is divine.

This is so beautiful!  I’m glad you shared the video…I did spot a snowman.  Becky has done a spectacular job with her quilting.  This quilt has already found its way into my ‘Favorite Anne Sutton Quilts” :)

Oh. My. Goodness. That is beyond beautiful. The swirling winter wind and the hills and countryside and the falling snow are just wonderful. You have a great quilter. And I absolutely adore that background fabric. So beautiful and sweet. I love every bit of it. And of course Sylvester is going to sit on even a tiny scrap of fabric. It’s what cats do. Ask me how I know. ;)
