• Scrap Bags and SVG Files

If you don’t know what an SVG file is, you’re not alone.  A little over a year ago, I didn’t either, but when we started getting requests for these files, I did my research and loved what I learned. If you own a Cricut or Silhouette cutting machine, SVG files can save you hours of template cutting.  My assistant Sue and I each purchased a Circut cutting machine and set about learning to use them.  The end result is exciting!   We have our first set of SVG files available for Country Christmas on our website!  If there’s enough interest, we’ll have SVG files available for all of my new applique…

  • We’re ready for block one

For me, the first block in a quilt is always the most exciting.  It’s the block where you see the fabrics come together for the first time, and it gives you a taste of what’s to come.  So let’s pull some fabrics for block one, are you ready? When you cut the background and applique fabrics from your kit, be sure and cut only what you need for each piece.  You’ll have plenty of fabric if you follow the instructions.  Most of the backgrounds in this block are directional fabrics so check before you cut. And when you come to the applique fabrics “fussy” cut when you can. I’ve made…

  • Stars and Noses

Welcome back!  If you’re working on Merry Merry Snow Days with me, today is a great day because we’re going to make all five of the Ohio Star blocks in this quilt. Ohio Stars We’re still on page 5 of your pattern.  I’ve used the same background for ALL the Ohio Star blocks, so pull the white on white snowflake print you’ll find in the large bundle shown below.  It’s the fabric right above the stripe. We’ve made the triangle squares slightly oversize.  You’ll be cutting them down after you stitch and this should give you nice looking points. Let’s cut that snowflake background fabric first.  Cut (1) strip 3…

  • Where do I start?

If you’re making the Merry Merry Snow Days quilt, and you’ve purchased a kit, you should have it very soon.  We’re shipping our pre-orders this week and some quilt shops already have them in stock.  Either way, you have plenty of time to get going on this quilt. so don’t worry. You can!  I’m going to come over and stand next to you.  Or, at least I’ll be close by.  Let’s take a look…

  • New Patterns Are Here!

I’m excited to announce that our newest patterns are now in stock on my website. You’ll find them under “what’s new.” You can start preparing your applique templates before the fabric arrives in April, but remember if you’ve purchased a kit, the pattern is included. I can’t believe how long it’s taken to bring you these patterns.  I designed Merry Merry Snow Days in December of 2017, and here we are with patterns finally in stock.  Fabric and kits are due to ship in April!  From start to finish it takes at least a year. ⠀ I hope you can see the quilting that Becky Hubel did on this quilt.  It’s perfect…
