Scrap Bags and SVG Files

If you don’t know what an SVG file is, you’re not alone.  A little over a year ago, I didn’t either, but when we started getting requests for these files, I did my research and loved what I learned.

If you own a Cricut or Silhouette cutting machine, SVG files can save you hours of template cutting.  My assistant Sue and I each purchased a Circut cutting machine and set about learning to use them.  The end result is exciting!   We have our first set of SVG files available for Country Christmas on our website!  If there’s enough interest, we’ll have SVG files available for all of my new applique quilts.

I used our SVG files when we prepared Squirrelly Girl for applique, and I’m astounded at how much easier it was!  Squirrelly Girl has a lot of templates, and to be able to cut them by machine was amazing.  The templates were perfect.  When I used the regular weight freezer paper, I cut each page twice and then ironed the two templates together.  This gave me the double layer freezer paper I like working with.

If you decide to purchase our SVG files, remember, you need to know how to use your cutting machine.  If you haven’t tried one of these machines, now is a great time!  They can save you hours of cutting time, and you’ll get perfect freezer paper templates.  The SVG files for Country Christmas are available on our website!  We also have two types of freezer paper available for purchase.

SCRAP BAGS!!!

It’s been too long since we’ve put together scrap bags for you.  I am so lucky to design for a fabric company that sends us the “end cuts” from the sales team sample cards.  I now have four fabric lines of end cuts for those of you who love to make scrappy quilts; Merry Merry Snow Days, My Redwork Garden, Country Christmas, and Squirrelly Girl!  The bags sell for $8.95 each and include three sets of end cuts per bag.  Because we have limited quantities, we’re limiting purchases to one bag of each fabric line per customer.  You can find the scrap bags under “What’s New on our website.

I’ve been busy writing Squirrelly Girl patterns, and they all went to print this week.  They should be in stock before too long.  I’ll let you know when they are.

Back soon,

Anne

I never heard of SVG files but I love scrap bags! In most cases it’s almost like a jelly roll just with fewer prints and some pieces are not 2.5″ wide but if you need just some stripes you are totally fine.

This is so exciting! My applique has gotten SO much better since I’ve let my Silhouette Cameo cut out my templates. My applique looks perfect every time. Instead of using two sheets of freezer paper put together, I buy the heavy duty (card stock) freezer paper. It’s the perfect weight to use to turn under edges on your applique. So quick. So simple. So perfect. Thank you, Anne, for offering the SVG files. P. S. Love the scrap bags. I’ve got my eye on the redwork one. Or maybe the Squirrelly Girl one. Love!

I’ll look upSVG files and get educated…..hopefully. I have a Brother Scanncut 360 W that hasn’t seen the light of day in a long time. I’ll  need a refresher course but would love to use your patterns and save these old arthritic fingers!
