A bittersweet year
2020 was a bittersweet year. So many things have changed for all of us this past year. Did you ever think you’d be spending a holiday on a zoom call? I could never have imagined this, and yet now it seems almost normal. As I look around my studio, I realize my Bunny Hill lock-down partners have been affected by this virus too. My Sweet Peanut
I had to say goodbye to Peanut last week and it hurts so much I can hardly write this post. She’s been fighting IBD since we brought her home. At first, her medications worked wonders, but slowly over time, they quit and we’ve had to try new ones. I knew it was bad when our vet referred us to a specialist and the chemo drug, she put her on didn’t work. She told me there was nothing else they could do. I am so grateful for my time with her. Subaru National Adopt A Dog Day
There’s so much excitement at my house today! Chelsea and Peanut watch all the Subaru ads, and they know today is their day! It’s Subaru’s National Adopt A Dog Day, and they are both adopted! If I owned a Subaru, I’d drive them to Petco with streamers and banners on my car to announce their special day. Maybe it’s a good thing I don’t own one because Chelsea would insist on driving. National Pet Day
Did you know it’s National Pet Day? It’s a day to do something a little extra for your pet, maybe a second walk, two treats, extra loves, and hugs. My Sweet Chelsea turns 12 this month! I just can’t believe it. I’m not going to tell her she’s getting up there in age. She’s still a young dog at heart. Welcome “Peanut” Sutton
It’s been almost 6 months since I said goodbye to Milkshake and I haven’t thought about getting another dog until last month. Chelsea and our Tweety cat have become good friends, and Tweety spends a lot of time giving Chelsea “head butts.” But Tweety can’t go on walks or car rides with her, and he doesn’t help her bark at the UPS man.
