Blocks 5 & 6 = Friendship

I’m sharing 2 blocks today.  2 blocks from two more of my Moda “sister” designers.  One of the fun things about being a Moda designer is the wonderful friendships we make with each other. So I think of these blocks as making a friendship quilt.  I hope each of you makes friends along the way and can share with each other.  The Moda Blockheads group is a good one to join, and you’re sure to make some friends along the way.

BH4 Block 5 - Two of Five - from Barb of Me & My Sister fame

As I was sewing this block, I thought of all the fun times I’ve had with Barb.  She is a bundle of wit, humor, kindness, and generosity.  If anyone can brighten a day, it would be her!  I loved making this block because it was EASY, it happens to be my favorite quilt block, and I love Barb.  Who can ask for more in a quilt block!  Here’s the link to the pattern instructions:  Block 5

BH4 Block 6 - Spinning into Spring - from Linzee Kull McCray

Almost all of us remember meeting Linzee when she started at Moda.  She has a way with words, and she set about to interview each of us.  You may have read her articles on Moda’s blog, and I’m sure you’ll see more in the future.  Aside from writing, I think of her as the Feedsack lady!  She wrote a book on Feed Sacks and has designed many lines for Moda featuring Feed Sacks.  I loved making her block, and I had to think twice to get those triangles spinning in the right direction.  It’s an exercise for the brain, LOL!
