Merry Merry Snow Days

Block Ten Merry Merry Snow Days

Welcome to the final block of Merry Merry Snow Days!  It should feel so good to have this quilt almost complete, and you’ll have time to get it quilted for the holiday season!

We’re off to the races, and our llama is ready!  He’s registered for the race and wearing his number proudly, His ski goggles are protecting those llama eyes from any brightness or flying snow.  Goodness knows the snow will fly once he takes off.

Let’s start by cutting and sewing the backgrounds together. Once you have that done, we can move onto the llama.

Prepare the applique for the llama and assemble the pieces on top of the pattern.  He’s really pretty easy if you use the pattern as your guide.  While you have him over the pattern, trace the embroidery lines for his nose, eyeglasses, and ears.  Place him on the background with his right ski 1 1/8″ up from the bottom raw edge of the background.  The finished side of his body is 1″ from the side raw edge of the background.

Now let’s work on the snowmen in the cheering squad.  Once you have the snowmen applique prepared, trace as many of the embroidery details as you can.  Then it’s time to place them on the background.

Place the pattern over your lightbox with the background on top.  Start with the snowman on the left, placing the finished edge of body 1″ from the side raw edge of the background. Pin the snowmen bodies in place and use a ruler to draw all the arms.

Complete all the embroidery, including the noses, and when complete, you can sew the bottom row of the quilt together!  Sew the three rows together, and you are ready to finish this quilt following the directions on page 20 of your instructions.

Congratulations!  This is it, the day you never thought would come!  Your Merry Merry Snow Days quilt is almost complete!

Thank you for coming on this wonderful journey with me.  I hope you were able to keep up and have enjoyed making this quilt!  Merry Merry Christmas, everyone!
