Make a List for 2018!

Chelsea and I each made a bucket list back in 2011, and I found a copy of it today.  Six years later and we haven’t completed much on our list.  Chelsea’s still waiting for her pink convertible, and I’m still trying to organize my photos.

The beautiful thing about this list is that it’s New Year’s Eve and we have another full year to complete it!  I told her I think we need to review and set more realistic goals for 2018.  She keeps reminding me that she’s getting older and wants to update her list with things like a fluffy new bed.

She’s been lounging around today watching me fill up my market basket with goodies to give away tomorrow.

The basket is bursting at the seams, and I can hardly lift it!  I’ve been collecting things all year, and there are 12 bags of treats inside!  We’re going to pick 12 winners tomorrow, and each one is going to get a treat bag!

All you have to do to win is leave me a comment telling me if you’ve ever done a bucket list.  Do you think it’s a good idea to do a yearly bucket list?  One that you can review at the end of each year to see how much you’ve accomplished? Do you have any other ideas for organizing in 2018?

Chelsea and I will be back tomorrow with a list of 12 winners.

Happy New Year’s Eve!

I have never done a bucket list. I always wanted to. I always seem to make resolutions. Maybe the first item on my list should be to win the drawing. Happy New Year!

No, I’ve never done a bucket list.  I have made lists to remind me to do things – like a change your routine list – with things like cook a new recipe at least twice a month, only watch TV for 4 hours…things like that.  And I have a small list of large items I need to save for to keep my house maintained.  But, as far as my life bucket list, I’m just winging it and trying to stay focused in the moment.

I make lists daily, weekly, monthly and yearly. It seems as soon as I cross something off a couple are added. As for my annual lists, some items get crossed off the others are revolving. i am a creative dreamer whose life keeps getting in the way. Life is too short we all need to take a step back every day and do what’s tugging our hearts.

I’ve never made a bucket list, but I do always look back to see what I’ve accomplished.  That always seems to guide me in the right direction for the new year.

I’ve done a bucket list specifically targeting quilting my UFO’s and future projects. It helps me prioritize and stay focussed.  I updated it the other day in preparation for 2018.

I need a bucket list!  I have been having a hard time motivating myself lately,  maybe a list would hold me accountable!

I’ve never done a bucket list but it sounds like a good idea, particularly as I get older.  A yearly bucket list sounds like an excellent idea.

I have a bucket list but not written down. Guess that would be good since I’m getting older and chances are I have forgotten some of them! So this is the year to write them down.

Never done a bucket list myself. With our hectic lives it may just make us slow down and take stock. I think it is a super idea

My bucket list is in my head, and I try to do one thing on it per year.  My bucket list changes from year to year.   Happy New Year!

  • Gudrun

Oh yes! I love bucketlists but prefer monthly ones.
My yearly bucketlist will get bigger each year cause of missing finishes. *lol*

Happy new year! I do make a bucket list and think it is very helpful to get things done! But I do not emotional stress on myself if it didn’t happen and just decide if I want to add it to the new list or if it is not important, lol! Thank you for the lovely idea to have a give away with those goodies!

I do have a bucket list, with hopefully realistic goals. I sometimes add a new one to my list. I need to get more organized, but I don’t have any tips even though I read a lot of tips! I think the most accomplisable one for me is to spend no more than 15 minutes a day in a room organizing it. And throw things away you haven’t used or needed for over a year.

I like to begin a list of the things to do for others throughout the year, projects I want to make, trips I want to take–the “revisiting” of it near the end of the year is revealing–much done, more always left to do–as long as we keep progressing in some way, life is well-lived :)

Happy New Year! I’m neither a bucket list nor resolution type. A “list” drives me crazy. My brain goes into overdrive thinking I have to complete the task now and when I fail I tend to beat myself up. Besides I can never find the list. I can’t tell you how many times I have made a grocery list to find myself at the grocery to discover the list is safely at home on my desk. LOL

  • Joanne

I have never made a yearly bucket list.  During busy times of the year I do tend to jot down my “to do” list.  I do love crossing things off when accomplished.  Maybe this year is the time to start a yearly list.

  • Alice

Not a believer of bucket lists.  Prefer to let life lead me.  Don’t get me wrong… I have plans. Like organizing my fabric stash, finish projects and those things that just get away as I’m enjoying life and retirement. Happy New Year!

  • Deborah

Rather than create a bucket list for the new year, I fill my bucket with all of the blessings and accomplishments of the past year!  Wishing everyone a happy and healthy New Year!  Happy stitching!!

I’ve honestly never done a bucket list. I’m liking your idea of a yearly bucket list to review, just simple things though. I do have a word for the year though, this year mine is ‘focus’

  • Estie

I’ve never written a bucket list, but I do feel it’s something I should consider doing…especially with the new year here.

  • Marietta

Never do bucket lists. Just try to enjoy each day as it comes. When you’ve stared death in the face you tend to live  day to day & make more short term goals.

I mostly have a travel bucket list, but I have other things in it…for example , I wanted to get back into riding again, and now have THREE horses…!

  • Kirsten H.

A bucket List haven’t I done until now, but I always write down my goals at new year’s eve or at January 1st. This year I wrote down a “to-sew-list”, so that I hopefully can end some long waiting projects. I wish you a wonderful new year and all the best. Kirsten

  • Terri Barton

No bucket list, maybe a list of goals for the year. Review it at the end of the year, why not? Goals are nice to strive for and hopefully reach, at least some of them!

  • Lori Quinlan

I’ve never done a bucket list but thought about it for 2018. I think if I did do one I might get my ufo’s completed. A bucket list would keep me more organized in my every day chores. I feel like I do a lot of twirling some days.

  • Heather G

I make a lot of to-do lists, not really bucket lists.  I like to use lists to stay organized and for the feeling of accomplishment I get when things get marked off as finished!

  • Diane

I have not made a bucket list. I have been so blessed with friends and family and my life is complete. Just waiting to see what 2018 will bring! Happy New Year, Anne!

  • Sally Christiansen

I haven’t done a bucket list and I find that all my good intentions of making a list in January of every year go buy the wayside by March. I would like to get organized this year and be better at keeping things where they belong.

    Hello Anne,
I have for a view years a bucket list but I know  already that I never can say I did everything.I trying to finish all my projects that I started and every year it’s getting more😊.
    Happy new year,Trea

I have a small, hopefully manageable, bucket list. I have actually done two items on my list.  I have visited Israel with my husband( added to the list is a fami, ymtrip eith kids and grands to Israel) ( I will need to hit the lottery, but that’s possible) and I was elected to public office. I still have about 10 items left!

  • Meredith

No I have never done a bucket list, always too busy, but I have more time on my hands now so it seems like a nice idea….I am sure I will get to end of 2018 with lots of things not achieved, but it will be good to see those that were!

  • Jeanne

I did a bucket list years ago. I didn’t find it very useful…I found that my priorities had changed as the year went by, so most of it wasn’t appropriate any longer. I don’t have any ideas for organizing in 2018, but I would certainly be interested in hearing some. Happy New Year!

  • Dee Winter

Oh, I tried the bucket list several years ago.  At the end of the year I was disappointed that most of the items weren’t crossed off, but when I added in the things I had gotten done, it wasn’t too bad.  But no, I’m not making a new list.  I make lists, but only short term ones.  Have a Happy New Year!

My bucket list for 2018 is to get a hat like Chelsea’s.  I think I would
look so cool going into all the quilt shops,  standing proud and saying “ this is the year of the Chelsea hat….sell me some Bunny hill fabric. “
And have a very Happy New Year!

  • Carolyn Moss

I have never made a bucket list, but it is enticing to see what I might come up with in the future.  More power to you & adorable Chelsea.  Hmmm, I wonder what my keeshond Anneke would come up with at 10 years old.    I love your patterns and Anneke is right with me when I sew.  Happy New Year to a wonderful inspirational lady!

  • RuthB

I have never created a bucket list but it is a fun idea! A new year is always such an inspiration for making changes in our lives. Finally starting an exercise program, lose weight, etc. etc. It must be so much easier to create a list when you have a friend like Chelsea to help you think it through. She looks very wise and always ready for a good time! Happy New Year to you both!!

  • Ellen Denton

I’ve never made an official bucket list, but there are certainly things that I would like to eventually do.  Maybe this will be the year for me to make one!
