• Germany, A Quick Trip

I’ve been in Germany for the past week visiting Lily!   I know I just saw her in June,  but when the opportunity came up to travel at the last-minute I took it!   That’s why I’ve been so quiet on the home front.  I had good intentions of blogging from there but of course it didn’t happen.  This is Lily back in June when she turned 1-year-old. This her just 2 months later. She’s growing up so fast I can’t believe it.  Look at how long the curls are getting!  She’s traveling here at Christmas so I don’t have to wait to long to see her again.  She’s learning to speak…

  • Snow Pockets

When Christmas comes around I’m always looking for a new way to package up cash or gift cards.  There aren’t too many ways to make $$ look cute, so Bunny Hill to the rescue! Snow pockets are simple to make and they’re perfect to hold cash or gift cards.  You can hang them on a tree, use them at a place setting, hang from a chair or a garland.  Whatever you dream up to put inside,  little gifts are going to look special! You’ve never worked with wool before?  Don’t worry, I’ve made it easy.  Just follow my wool applique tutorial and use my free pattern! Wool Applique Simplified Snow…

  • Playing with color

Playing around with color.  Isn’t that what we love about quilting?  I just finished teaching my Merry, Merry Snowmen class at Thimble Creek, our local quilt shop.  I had the best group of ladies ever.  They may not realize it but watching them inspired me! Just look at these beauties that came out of my class! I love this combination of red, aqua, grey and a touch of beige!   From William Morris prints to Bunny Hill checks, this quilt has it all!  See the aqua truck?  My husband owned one just like it years ago in the same beautiful shade of Aqua.   I don’t dare show him this picture.…

  • Shabby

My husband will NEVER understand shabby.  To him shabby is wood waiting to be thrown away.  All the years we’ve been married I’ve tried to make him understand…no honey I don’t want it painted.  I want it to look just like it is!   Now, when he does paint something he’s come around to doing what he calls distressing.  Trust me he doesn’t know the meaning of the word but at least he’s trying. When this little step stool arrived in the mail last week I was so glad he wasn’t home to see it.  I’m not sure he could have survived the shock. To think that I spent money on…

  • Wool Colors

We’ve got some new colors of wool I just put on our website.  Yum is all I can say! If these don’t make you want to work with wool nothing will!   :>) These are new colors from Weeks Dye Works.  It was really hard to cut these into bundles.  I just want to keep them on my desk for eye candy!   See the grey, third from the bottom?  It’s called “Galvanized”…don’t you love the name?  Trust me you’ll love the color too. If you haven’t worked with wool maybe it’s time to try it.  I’ll teach you how in my next newsletter. Hugs, Anne

  • My Marcel

Marcel…do you remember his story? I’ll never understand why he was at the vet’s office for so long without being adopted.  People coming and going every day and everyone passed him by for over 2 months.  They missed a real gem.  I’m so thankful my husband brought him home.   He came with imperfections that make me love him even more.  His fur separates where he had surgery after being hurt by the car fan.  You can see it in the picture above.  You only notice it when he lies on his side but there’s a big dent in his hip area you can feel when you pet him. He’s…
