• Rainy Days are for sewing

Happy Monday everyone! I’m off to teach at our local quilt shop Thimble Creek today.  We’re making wool snowmen pillows in January!  Unheard of you say?  Just think of the start these ladies will have.  Remember how fast last year flew by? Here’s our project for today…   Snowballs is a fun, quick and best of all EASY pattern!  You’ll find it here on my website. Since I’m on the subject of snowmen, I thought you might enjoy seeing this quilt! I spoke at the Diablo Valley Quilter’s Guild last week (what an incredible group of people), and this quilt (Snowbound) was made by Mary Anne the President of the…

  • Love those weekends

I had a great weekend, how about you?  Did you get some time to yourself to do a few of those things on your list?  Have you started Christmas shopping yet? I’ve been neglecting my house for two months while I’ve worked on new patterns, so this weekend it got some well needed TLC.  Who knew cleaning up and putting things away could feel so good? I bought these wire baskets at Garnet Hill and I’m using them to store my wools.  I like to see everything I have so these baskets are perfect!   See the pastel wool bundles in the picture below?  I bought those bundles at Holly Hill…

  • Primitive? Me?

I just received my second issue of Primitive Quilts.    Have you seen this new magazine yet?  It’s put together by a group of really creative ladies and I do mean creative.  It’s so well done I find that I’m enjoying the magazine a lot.  I signed up for a 2 year subscription! If you border between “Prim” and traditional style you’ll enjoy this new magazine.  To tell the truth I think there’s room for a bit of prim in a shabby chic home. The last few quilt markets I’ve found myself in the booths selling wool and Valdani Pearl Cotton.  I’ve always been a fan of wool and well that…

  • Wool Bundles

Look what I added to my web site!  Little wool bundles!  These are so cute I may just send one to myself.  If I got one in the mail, I might be tempted to keep it bundled on a shelf,  just because the colors are so pretty.   But don’t do that! These little bundles are made to be used!  So, what can you use these for?  Applique and crafts!  These are 6″ x 7″ pieces of  Weeks Dye Works hand dyed wools!  Remember that chick in “A Tisket, A Tasket” block four?  Here’s the perfect yellow for the little guy!  Use these wools for times when you don’t need a large piece.  They are perfect for applique!  You…
