If you read my newsletter yesterday, you already know the answer to this question:  What can you do with a package of this Merino Wool Felt and a Merry Merry Snow Days charm pack? You can turn them into Snow Happy Ornaments! Snow Happy Ornaments General Instructions Snow Happy Ornament One Each ornament uses two charm pack squares, one for the front and one for the back.  I’ve picked contrasting fabric squares for each one.  Here are the fabrics for Snow Happy Ornament #1:   Snow Happy Ornament Two   I’ll be showing you two ornaments each month, and you’ll have 12 by the first part of November.  Think of…

  • Some fun wool applique

I love wool applique, and I love Lisa from Primitive Gatherings even more!  When she offered to put together a collection of wool for my 101 Maple Street fabric line, I said yes, yes, yes!  Just look at this yummy wool! Have you ever seen such a perfectly co-ordinated bundle?  This bundle inspired my newest petite pattern called “Woolums.” I normally glue-baste my wool applique in place, but this time I tried Lisa’s method of using fusible web,  and I just loved it!  The pattern has been written for the fusible web method, and the drawings have been reversed for you. I blanket stitched these little gems using two strands…

  • sewing from the little traveller book

It’s been such a joy to stitch these little characters from Simone Gooding’s new book Little Traveller.  The book is delightful, and sewing with wool felt is pure fun!  Here’s my version of “Twig,” the squirrel.  The book will also show you how to knit some cute accessories, but for this photo shoot, I used a few acorns. I couldn’t stop after Twig, so I made “Evie” as a friend for Twig.  She’s a tiny doll I know my grand-daughters will enjoy!  I’m sure if Maya were here she’d be tucking Evie into this little doll house crib.  I gave Evie a little kitty to hold (yes, there’s that little kitty…

  • Happy Thursday!

I’ve been busy.  I sent off another fabric line to Moda and it feels so good to have it finished.  I can’t even give you a little hint about it yet, but you’ll be able to tell it’s a Bunny Hill fabric line when you see it.  :>) We’ve got a few Easter Petite kits back in stock on our website.  You still have time to make these cute little ornaments and there are plenty of branches out there to hang them on!   Something about that pastel wool that just makes me smile! Something else has me smiling lately and I thought I’d share it with you. It’s an…

  • HollyHill, Homespun and Holly

The season is coming at us and I’m starting off with a class at Holly Hill quilt shop in west Lynne Oregon this weekend!  Homespun and Holly is an annual event at the shop and it’s so much fun.  If you ever get a chance to sign up, don’t hesitate, just do it. I think they start taking reservations sometime in July, and I guarantee you’ll have a great time. My schedule is a bit crazy now, because I leave for Hollyhill tomorrow morning,  and on Friday, my son Doug, Elke and Lily arrive from Germany!  I’ll be home again on Sunday, but I have 2 days without my Lily…

  • Celebrating early

I just returned from a wonderful trip to Germany with my granddaughters.   I took Michaela, Alyssa and Diana (my daughter-in-law) with me for 8 days of relaxing fun with Lily.   We made memories to last a lifetime and it was so good to get away.
