Choosing Fabric for Snow Happy Hearts
It’s 8 days and counting until the next heart pattern is here. I hope you’re excited! Here’s a little hint for the Snow Happy Hearts theme for February; you can use it as a Valentine, and you may want to make more than one. Some of you have asked about the heart fabrics for the rest of the year. Here’s what I’ve selected from Mistletoe Lane: February is the pretty pink plaid at the top left, and December is the red snowflakes on the bottom right. When you’re choosing fabrics, just make sure they look good together. You may want to use them in a garland, or to decorate a tree. If you like the look…

Our Snow Happy Hearts Club starts today! You’ll find Miss January in our newsletter, on our website and right here in this blog. She’s a sweet little snow angel, the first of 12 “snowmen”. Snow Happy Hearts January I’ve had so much fun using Lisa Bongean’s Primitive Muslin Flannel for my snowmen and I hope you do too. It’s on back-order at Moda but you’ll find it on our website around the end of January. If you can’t wait, you can get it directly from Primitive Gatherings (sku #1040-21). Moda Love Blog Tour, Bunny Hill Day!
Welcome to Bunny Hill Day on the Moda Love Blog Tour! We’re talking about things we love today and I’m posting along with Deb Strain and Kansas Troubles ! I know many of you haven’t seen it yet, so I’m sharing my latest love from Moda, Mistletoe Lane. It’s my newest fabric line that’s due to ship to stores in January! Makin’ it Cute
“Makin’ it Cute” flower templates from Me and My Sister Designs have so many uses! If you love flowers then you’ll love these templates. You can make fabric flowers, felt flowers and even paper flowers! My granddaughter Alyssa, used a flower as a hair clip. Then she tried it as a necklace. And finally she used it as a bracelet and painted her fingernails to match. We made some felt flowers and used them to decorate a bulletin board. Then we glued some flowers to magnets and used them to decorate a white board. We thought a Chelsea Chihuahua flower hat would be cute. Or a Milkshake flower bonnet. You…

Moda Blog Hop!
Welcome to day one of the Moda BLOG hop! Moda assigned me the letter B and soon B’s were all I could think about. I had the biggest urge to pick up Barbara Brackman’s book and look for blocks beginning with B, like Basket, Broken Dishes, Birds in the Air, Bear Paw, Bethlehem Star, and Bird of Paradise. It’s enough to drive me BATTY. So instead I got out of bed and biked into Berkeley, wearing baggy burlap bell bottoms, to pick up backing, binding, borders, batting and beige buttons for a baby quilt. On the way home I bumped into Barbara, Barry, and Billy who were bragging about Bob’s…

Transfer Paper
If you read my newsletter you might have noticed the little pillows I made using my grand-daughter’s drawings. Fortunately she doesn’t follow this blog because these are a Christmas surprise. I used this Transfer Artist Paper to transfer her artwork to fabric. She’s done so many cute drawings it was hard to choose… You can easily transfer images by scanning with an ink jet printer or tracing with a fine point marker. Cut out close to images and iron onto fabric. One little present done. You’ll find the transfer paper on our website. Be sure and check out the “sale” section too. We’re clearing out notions at 50%…
