• Twenty of you get a prize!

Today is Fig Tree Day on the Moda Blog Hop Country Fair! Go, go, go and download the cutest chicken scratch ever! Oh my goodness how many comments did you say there were?  Chelsea calculated out that if she had $1 for every comment, she’d be able to buy enough dog treats to last for several years!    I told her we didn’t have any room to store them and a dog treat obsession isn’t a good one to have…now a fabric obsession is another story.  If I just had one fat quarter for every comment… Chelsea and I are dreamers for sure… So let’s get to the fun! If you…

  • About 60 miles down the road

Jump in the car, drive about 60 miles down the road and you’ll  get the concept of how far the tornado took Jeaneane’s quilt.  Judging by what that tornado did to her house the chances of a quilt making it that far in one piece must be a million to one! Jeaneane’s mother-in-law was 91 when she made these quilt blocks.  She made some of the blocks upside down so she never finished the quilt, she just put the blocks in a box.  When Jeaneane found the box there were only19 blocks, so she had the  20th block embroidered with information about her mother in law. I know Jeaneane’s story…

  • Little Miracles

Little miracles happen when we least expect them… Let me tell you about my new friend Jeaneane.  I met her just after the Joplin tornado hit when a friend of Jeaneane’s emailed me to ask for a favor;  Jeaneane lost almost everything in the tornado, including her computer with all the Snowbound and Tisket A Tasket blocks she had saved.  Her friend asked if I could email her the blocks again so she could give them to Jeaneane.  I sent them off and soon Jeaneane herself emailed me a big thank you and our friendship began. Jeaneane is a quilter just like you and me. She and her husband lost…

  • National Smore’s Day!

Did you know today is National Smore Day?  Can you believe it?  Really, I don’t make this stuff up.  Every August 10th is Smore Day. It would take an act of Congress to make it an official holiday…the kind where  everyone gets a day off to stay home and make Smores.  We all know Congress could never agree on this one, so for now it will remain an unofficial holiday, but it’s still a day that’s fun to celebrate!   So get thyself to a store and pick up some: Honey Graham Crackers Marshmallows Hershey Chocolate Bars You can make smore’s in a microwave.  I did that early this morning…

I have printed out the instructions for Henrietta and met with my quilt group yesterday…

  • Fabric Scraps Anyone?

I’m still waiting on my new fabric to arrive and decided if I made room for it, the arrival would happen sooner.  Maybe it’s wishful thinking.  After cleaning I now have 3 empty shelves in the studio just waiting to be filled again, but the day bed is now filled with fabric scraps!  Something has to go. I’ve decided to have a Scrappy Giveaway!  Yes, it’s exactly as it sounds, bags of scraps from the Bunny Hill Studio. Here’s my Henrietta Whiskers scrap bag…no it’s not enough to make the quilt but it will get you started… pieces of leftover wool, and a few wool stars cut by me and…
