• Pretty Things

My studio is filled with pretty things today.  I wish I could show you what’s on the work table under this chandelier.  I’ve been working on it for awhile and everyday I get closer to completion.  Soon I’ll be giving you hints on what it is.  If you guess it right you’ll be entered into a drawing for a really nice prize!  Remember, you’ve had one hint already.  It’s Christmas! The light from the chandelier is so pretty!  It’s amazing how it lights up the studio!  To install the chandelier we had to remove the ceiling fan, so now I have two of these fans in the studio! In pink of course. …

  • Interview by Pat Sloan!

Oh my gosh I love this lady!  Pat is the one person who can always make me smile.  She has more energy than anyone I know AND she accomplishes more in one day than most of us do in a week.  She teaches, has a radio show, several blogs, designs fabrics, and well you get the picture!   Today she is interviewing me on her blog!  It’s Anne Sutton day over at Pat’s blog! Pat has that famous radio show and she’s been trying to get me on there forever.  BUT, I hate doing things like that so I keep making up excuses. When she asked to interview me I sat down at my…

  • What’s up with Stuffing?

Did you know not all stuffing is the same?  I’m not talking about your grandmother’s Thanksgiving stuffing, but the stuffing you buy to make dolls, toys, pillows etc.  That little white polyester fiber can make a big difference in how your project looks.  And  no one ever seems to talk about things like stuffing.  So while I’m in Paris, I thought I could jabber away here about stuffing.  I’ll be drinking Perrier and you’ll be reading about stuffing.  Please don’t delete my blog from your reading list! Here’s the real truth about stuffing.  There’s a big difference between the stuffing you pick up at the discount store and the stuffing…

  • Feeding the Fetish

Thank you triple times over for all the shoe suggestions.  I’ve tried almost all of them!   The other day when UPS came to the door our driver had so many shoes my husband had to sign for them.  Yep, he was really happy about signing for shoes.  Keeps saying something about how he should have looked at my feet before he married me.  He thinks he’s funny. Don’t laugh at him, it just makes him worse. Almost everything has gone back, but I did keep these funky looking pair of Clarks.   FUNKY but so comfortable.  Would have preferred something a bit more feminine… I actually thought about keeping this…

  • Getting Closer To Market!

You know it’s getting close to market when new products start showing up!  Look at what arrived at my door this week from Lecien!  “Seasons” from Cosmo!  A beautiful new line of variegated embroidery threads with so many pretty colors! I think I’m in love! The pinks alone are enough to make me happy!   The variegated look like so much fun!   I’m going to give these a try very soon. Cosmo has three new colors they have added to the 2 strand multi-work floss;  redwork red, redwork blue, and redwork green.  So many of you have asked for a redwork red.  I can’t wait! And if that isn’t enough excitement, EQ7 is coming! …

  • Come along with me!

Thank you for all the comments on my last post.  I loved reading them!  We’ve traveled down this road called quilting together, and I feel like each of you is a special friend.  Come along on this new Moda journey with me!  I’ll be sharing things that happen along the way, giving you tips, tutorials, sneak peeks, a few giveaways and so much more!   The destination is Moda, and the fun will be in the journey! Yesterday the studio was chaotic.  Quilts are coming and going, their names are changing so fast I can’t remember what quilt is what, patterns are getting written and I’m planning our booth space for Minneapolis quilt market!  And yet in the middle of the chaos, things are still normal…
