Oh my!
It’s been one of those weeks… My trip to Austin was delayed for 7 hours. The plane had mechanical trouble and I sat in the airport all day (not complaining because they discovered it while on the ground). If you didn’t get a call from me to chit chat it’s because I didn’t have your number! If you did get a call I’m sorry! I can talk a lot when I’m killing time. My embroidery was packed in my suitcase, not my carry on bag. Free time and nothing to sew! Learned my lesson on that one I hope. Retreat was wonderful and I finished embroidering my letter “S”! …

Treasures
I’ve been shopping over at Dreamy Whites and I have to show you what I bought! I may have to have to start making cookies for the UPS man. He’s been hauling the strangest size boxes up to the door. I LOVE Maria’s blog “Dreamy Whites” and I love her decorating style but most of all I just can’t resist her shop. Here’s my purchase this week…this old grape container… The first thing I thought of when I saw it was fabric storage! After it arrived (UPS man struggled getting it to the door) DH scrubbed it clean and carried it up to the studio for me. The old Bistro…

The Newest Love in my Life
Lily arrived on Thursday! Here she is 1 1/2 hours old peeking at the world… I got the call from my son in Germany telling me she had arrived around 5:30 in the morning and I haven’t stopped smiling since! Amazing how much happiness a new granddaughter can bring! Lily won’t remember being 1 1/2 hours old but I’ll never forget! Everything I do lately reminds me of her! Lily is my newest inspiration. Who knows where it will lead? Welcome to the world my sweet little granddaughter! XXXOOO, Your Grandmother :>)

All Dressed Up and Pouring Rain
It’s pouring rain here today. The kind of rain that brings high winds along with it. California is definitely starting the New Year with a bang! Watching the rain outside, made me dream of my trip to Paris last June, when a much more gentle rain brought out the umbrellas! It was wonderful to watch. Then looking at the umbrellas made me think of all the shopping I did in Paris…ohh la la! And then I wondered what Paris was like on New Year’s Eve so I went to Google to find out! “In Paris, an estimated 235,000 people were on the Champs-Elysees with a further 35,000 around the Eiffel…

Who Put The Chicken in the Tree?
I live in an area filled with cherry, apricot, orange, fig, peach, apple, persimmon, and chicken trees. Wait! What did I just say? Chicken trees? Yes, chicken trees! Brigette’s friends, Dan & Teresa were wondering what was happening to their persimmons. Now they know! These are their chickens in their persimmon tree! Photo courtesy of Dan & Teresa! If I ever design a quilt with chickens in a tree you’ll know where I got the inspiration! Counting down to 2011 with a smile! Hugs, Anne
