• Could you be a winner?

If you didn’t win the hedgehog pincushion, you could easily make one.  Buy the All in a Row Again book, choose two 5″ charm squares and use the Heggie pattern in the book to applique a hedgehog!  It’s so easy and really fun to make. I filled my pincushion with ground walnut shells (you can buy them at any pet store in the bird section). They add a nice “weight” to the pincushion and also help keep your pins and needles sharp.   The Hedgehog Pincushion Winner The winner of my Hedgehog Pincushion is Joani who left the following comment on my blog: “JOANI – Henry or is it Henrietta? Hedgehog is bringing a…

  • Moda All-Stars

I think I love this new Moda All-Stars All In A Row Again book more than the first All in a Row book. Is that possible? Maybe, but I’m not ready to give up the first All in a Row because the combination of the two books means so many more cute quilts! The two books work perfectly together! Here’s the newest one from The Moda All-Stars!  Isn’t it a cute book?   The book is broken down into sections, and I had the Critters and Creatures section.  My row centered around and was inspired by hedgehogs. I just couldn’t help myself because I love hedgehogs! My hedgehog row quilt is…

  • all in a row moda blog hop

Hi everyone and welcome to Anne and Laurie’s day on the Moda “All in a Row” blog hop!  I’m not sure who at Moda decided how to assign teams, but when I heard I was partnered with Laurie from Minick & Simpson, I couldn’t have been happier.  I have my own secret fan club for Minick & Simpson.  I love everything they design,  I buy their fabric and someday I’m going to applique one of Laurie’s beautiful quilts. For this blog hop we were asked to make each other’s row from the new book “All in a Row”, using our own fabric.  Let me show you my row from the book……

  • all in a row

All in a Row, from the Moda designers! If you haven’t seen this book yet, you’re going to want one!  It’s the first of the Moda All-Stars books from Martingale.  There are many more books to come and I predict you’ll want them all!   The best thing about this book is that the proceeds go to No Kid Hungry, a charitable organization dedicated to ending childhood hunger.  Isn’t that the greatest?  Imagine, a book you can buy that will help a child! Moda’s doing a blog hop right now that you don’t want to miss.  Each designer in the book was asked to make another designer’s row.  Truth be told,…

  • Waiting for fabric

It’s the first day of Autumn and normally I wouldn’t even notice its arrival.  I should be heavy into market sewing because Quilt Market starts on October 24th.  Yet, here I sit waiting for my sample yardage to arrive and enjoying a touch of Fall weather.  It should arrive around September 29th. and there will be a lot of stress sewing once it comes. I’ll share pictures of my new fabric line as soon as I can, but first you have to promise NOT to be shocked.  There’s not even a touch of pink in it.  I can’t believe it myself!  Here’s a little hint to lead you down the Bunny Hill next fabric line…
