Keepsake, My Blockheads 5 Quilt Block

Hi Everyone, and welcome to Moda’s Blockheads 5, Group 2, Block 15 block!  I’m Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill Designs, and if you’re visiting for the first time, I’m glad you’re here!

I love a Churn Dash quilt block, so of course, I had to use a variation for my Blockheads 5-15 block! Since My Summer House fabric line has just shipped, I selected these fabrics for my block!  It was so much fun to play with this block!  It’s simple to make, and if you follow Anna Dineen’s directions, you’ll have it completed in no time!  She’s made the flying geese and half-square triangles slightly oversized so you can trim them to perfect points. Thank you, Anna!  I selected four fabrics for my sample block.  I made the 12″ block, and I love how it looks.

It was hard to choose what fabrics to use from My Summer House collection…

I’ve mocked up some digital samples to show you different colorways.  I love how this simple Churn Dash block can look so different in each one!

If you love pink and red, this next block is for you!

This one is calling my name!  I may have to make a few for a small table runner!

Do you have a favorite from all of these?  I can’t wait to see how all of your blocks look!

Last but not least, I couldn’t resist adding the house print as the center square…

The best advice I can give you is to measure, measure, measure!  If you’re a beginner, keep a ruler by your sewing machine and measure each seam allowance to ensure you are at 1/4″.   If you’re off at all, take the time to correct it right away.  It will save you time later!

Hugs,

Anne
