Blockheads

Moda Blockheads 4, will you join me?

I’m a proud member of Moda Blockheads 4, and I hope by now you are too! In case you haven’t heard about it, Moda’s blockheads are a collection of free quilt blocks that are released once a week on Wednesday. There are 26 designer blocks and 8 bonus blocks. Each block is offered in two different sizes, either 9″ or 4 1/2″. You can choose one size or do a combo of both, but the end result will be a beautiful sampler quilt in a setting of your choice. You can choose from different settings along the way, and you can pull fabric from your stash for a scrappy quilt or grab a few layer cakes or a fat eighth bundle for a more structured look.

I’m going to make the 9″ blocks, and I’m using my newest fabric line called The Flower Farm. Some of you have seen this line on Facebook or Instagram, but if you haven’t, here’s a photo. This line ships in September of this year. I’ll tell you more in another post,

Block one was released last Wednesday, and Block two will be released tomorrow.   Sign-up to receive Moda’s weekly Blockheads blog post via e-mail:   Moda Blog Newsletter Sign-Up.

I’ll be sharing my Blockhead 4 blocks as we go along, and I’d love to see yours! Many of you already post on Instagram or Facebook, but I know some don’t use these social media platforms. Please send us a quick photo of your block if you don’t. Sue and I would love to see them! I have Sue talked into becoming a Moda Blockhead, and I’ll share some of her blocks too. I have a simple layout designed that I’ll share with you. You are always welcome to use it too.

So tell me, are you a Blockhead already?   I love a good sew-along! Join us for fun!

Hugs,

Anne

Speaking as a gardener, leave it to you to make a pest in the flowerbeds look so darn cute!! Your new line is absolutely stunning!

Oh, how sweet!! I love the subtle stripes, the delicate little florals, and, of course THE POLKA DOTS!!  Love, love love!

I’m excited to start this project! I moved my daughter to TN and on my way back, I booked a hotel in KS… much to my dismay every place I tried was beyond unsanitary (4 hotels!). Not willing to have my trip ruined, I stopped at a Quilt Shop and purchased several fabrics from… you guessed it…Kansas Troubles. I’m turning something unpleasant into something beautiful! My Grandma would be proud.

Lynne would be so happy to hear this!  She is such a wonderful person and yes, she has a way of making everyone feel at home, regardless of where they are.
