My Sweet Peanut
I had to say goodbye to Peanut last week and it hurts so much I can hardly write this post. She’s been fighting IBD since we brought her home. At first, her medications worked wonders, but slowly over time, they quit and we’ve had to try new ones. I knew it was bad when our vet referred us to a specialist and the chemo drug, she put her on didn’t work. She told me there was nothing else they could do.
I am so grateful for my time with her. She loved me with every inch of her little being. When you rescue a dog, I have no doubt they realize it.
Chelsea has been depressed and at first, she hardly ate. Grief is something we all go through when we say goodbye to a beloved pet. I’ve taken Chelsea for extra walks, given her extra love, and made sure she has lots of attention. Tweety won’t let her walk across the room without giving her head-butts. I captured this photo of Chelsea and Tweety together this week, looking out my studio window.
My sweet Peanut will be missed more than words can say. Hugs to all of you who have lost a beloved pet. You must know exactly how I feel.
Anne

I’m so sorry Anne. We lost our 18-year-old cat last month. We share your heartbreak.

So sorry to hear about your Peanut. It is heartbreaking for sure. We lost our 8 yr old Dobe Monday and have just been devastated all week. They leave such an empty hole everywhere. We have a 4 yr old Cavachon that just looks at me and whines. He misses her too. We are already looking for another one, that will help a little.
