Happy New Year!
Happy New Year, everyone! Are you excited for what most of us think of as a new beginning? There are so many things I want to accomplish this year, and I’ve made a list, so I don’t forget any of them. Remember last year when Marie Condo was the new thing? Well, I’m still working on de-cluttering my closets, drawers, etc. so I guess she’ll be around in 2020 with me. My pantry alone could take me a couple of days. I need to take everything out and go from there. Do you have any great ideas on how to organize a pantry? Have you done yours lately, or do you just close the door?
One of the things at the top of my list is to organize the books on my iPad. I read a ton of books that I download from Amazon, and right now, I have a huge mess. I just discovered that if I go into Amazon, I can organize them by collections, right from their website. I’ve decided to do mine by the author because once I find a book I like, I tend to read everything from that author. It’s going to take me some time to get all of them into collections, so I may be at this until 2021. The newest collection I’m reading is The Shetland Series from Ann Cleeves. I just read that they are going to turn these books into a series of shows for TV. If you like mysteries, these are great ones for 2020! Let me know if you have any other mystery series you recommend reading.
If you got my newsletter this morning, then you know we have a 25% off sale from today through January 5th! If you’ve been with me for a while, then you know we do a sale every January and July. It’s always fun, and the perfect time to stock up on patterns, fabrics, and kits!
If you haven’t seen it yet, I’ve updated my Rabbits Prefer Embroidery pattern with my new redwork fabric. Every once in awhile, I get a stroke of genius, and this is one of those times! Back in November, we got an order for Rabbits Prefer Embroidery, and as I looked at the pattern, I wondered why I hadn’t thought about updating it sooner. It’s such a fun quilt to embroider. You’ll find some kits on my website. Purchase this kit during our sale, and you’ll get it for 25% off, and you’ll probably have it finished by the time Easter rolls around in April! The kits we have in stock are the last ones I can make. I tried to order more fabric from Moda, but most of My Redwork Garden is sold out.
I’m got some exciting things I’m working on for Moda, and I can’t wait to show you what’s coming. I think it’s going to be a fun year! Have a great weekend, everyone!

I love the Inspector Gamache series by Louise Penny!!!! But they should be read in order and there are 13 or 14 so far. But they are fantastic.

Happy New Beginnings! Thank you for the Bunnies Love Embroidery update in The new collection.
I too have the original pattern kit. It does not have the border assembled. I need to redo a block. That is the when it became a UFO. I was a new quilter back then – no need to say more. I am inspired to add it to my 2020 finish list. xo

I call it the January Purge. My pantry and walk in closet get sorted out.
I use glass canisters from Target with airtight lids. I label with a label maker the contents: types of rice, lentils, sugar, flour etc. no more plastic storage for anything. Pyrex makes glass rectangle containers that are great for leftovers or lunch to go. If you lose a lid they are replaceable on Amazon. I use Keck jars with plastic or airtight lids to store opened dog food, leftovers and great for veg or salads to go. Also Amazon.
Don’t get me stared on my clothing & shoe purge …
