Other Nice Things

Welcome Back

Some of you have emailed me to make sure I’m still here..I’m here! I’m here! Welcome to my new updated Bunny Tales.  I’ve been thinking about giving my blog a new look for some time now, and I finally decided that no matter what, I had to make time to do it.  I hope you like it.

Instead of leading you into a single post on the home page, I’ve given you a selection.  The current post will always be in the upper left corner.  Just click on it and you’ll be there.  If you’re looking for something in particular you can use the “Search” tab over in the right side bar.  I’m amazed at how great it works.  For example, try searching for the picture I took of an artichoke.  Just type in artichoke, click on go, and three posts that mention the word “artichoke” will come up.  Go ahead, try it and I’ll wait for you.  Just be sure and come right back!

Great, I’m glad you’re back!  I hope you read the posts while you were there, because I’ve decided to do a “welcome back to my blog give-away”!  Just look at what I’m giving away…

Cosmo Collection

…three bags of Cosmo Embroidery Floss!  There’s enough floss in each bag,  you may never have to buy floss again!  To win one of these floss bags, leave me a comment with the word “artichoke” in it.  You can copy from any of my previous posts, or you can make up your own sentence using the word artichoke.  I guarantee inside each of these bags is an artichoke color floss that you can use to embroider little artichokes (see how easy it is?).  I’ll pick three random winners on Monday, June 20th.

And here’s some news that might make you feel better if you don’t win one of these treat bags.  Cosmo floss will be 25% off during our upcoming sale.  I’ve moved our July 4th sale to June!  For three days everything on our website will be 25% off.  Everything!   So save the dates of June 24, 25 and 26!  It’s our annual July 4th sale early!

I’ve missed all of you and it feels good to be back in blog-land.  I hope you’re enjoying some California artichokes this weekend!

Hugs,

Anne

Love your new look blog Anne…. I just loved this sentence in one of your previous blogs about Artichokes….
‘Bitsy LOVES a bite or two of artichoke heart dipped in butter. Chelsea doesn’t care for them. Mooch sides with Chelsea on this one.’ Have a lovely weekend! Christine x

Artichoke wa not been introduced to me in my diet till later in my life. It is a taste that is required to have an open mind as you peel it, to find yummy, succulent petals.
The Cosmos embroidery floss is the eye on the prize, with all those succulent colours, that makes ones mouth droole!
Artichoke? Who would have thought of such a unique word?!!
I hope Canadians are eligible for the draw.
I know you ship to Canada as I’ve ordered from you before.
Welcome back Anne, I have missed your blogs!

What a nice update to your site. A few years ago we were attending a College Baseball Tournament near Castroville and got stuck behind a truck full of artichokes. The artichokes were flying out of the truck and we only wished we could stop and bring them back to Texas! I would love a chance to embroider with the Cosmo floss since it’s not available in my quilt stores.

Love our new look it’s so fresh! I had the best artichoke hearts a few years ago in Turkey they were absolutly yummy.

  • Kathryn

I love your new look. I was just thinking about the color of artichokes and wondering if there was a crayon that color. Or floss that color. I’m not sure if I’ve eaten one before. I guess with all this talk about them I’ll have to try them.

Oh, My ! I was in my kitchen, quietly peeling artichokes for lunch, when my daughter called me :
“quick, quick, momma, there’s a gorgeous giveaway to win from Bunny Tales blog!”
Of course, I ran to my PC, and discovered that wonderful surprise : 3 full nests of Cosmo Threads! Pure blisssssss :)
Ooooh, I can already imagine all those cute embroideries I’d make with them : flowers, little animals, veggies (including an artichoke, for sure !)…
So now, back to my kitchen, I’m dreaming eyes wide open, crossing my fingers (and toes!) that I could be one of the Lucky, Lucky winners :)

    In stitches,
    NADINE

Bitsy LOVES a bite or two of artichoke heart dipped in butter. Chelsea doesn’t care for them. Mooch sides with Chelsea on this one,my husband, however, will love me to prepare them with the chef’s tips from your post.In fact, he may even sweep me off my feet in a dance of delight-yay!

I always wonder who first tried eating an artichoke. It’s a prickly thistle, and I expect it took a while to work out how to deal with it. I’m glad they did though!

  • Sabine

Hi Anne, it’s so nice to hear from you again! What a lovely give-away you have!
I’d love to try Cosmo-Threads and I see so many pretty colors, maybe even artichoke green thread :-)

  • Linda S

I really enjoy eating artichokes. The plants they grow on and flowers are beautiful. I’m thinking of planting some in my backyard. Maybe my bag of floss would have purple too! To embroider the flower bloom.

As a young bride, my Mother moved from Yakima, Washington to Santa Cruz, CA in 1946. My grandmother serviced artichokes as a special treat to her new daughter-in-law. My Mother hadn’t ever seen an artichoke. Needless to say it didn’t go well, since Mother devoured the entire leave. Not sure if Mother ever grew to acquire a taste for the intended treat. :)

Artichokes have been one of my favorite veggies since I was young…any way they are prepared, I LOVE ARTICHOKES!

  • Ellen R

I love eating fresh artichoke steamed with a little lemon butter and I love that it is part of growing up Californian. Thanks for the reminder and the chance to win!

  • Elaine b

We can grow artichokes here in the “banana belt” of Colorado, but they don’t get very big so it isn’t a commercial crop. I love Cosmo floss and have some precious skeins I purchased in Tokyo in a 4 story fabric store. Bliss!

  • Fran Claassens

Ok, I love your new blog and newsy posts. I love artichokes and can’t imagine them hot or cold without mayo and normally I’m not a mayo fan but artichokes and mayo, delish in the summer. At the Raleys/Bel Air I just discovered fresh artichoke hearts in a bag by Monterrey farms dipped in fresh garlic and lemon. They are delicious and you can add them to salads easily. I would love to win, yes. I like hand embroidery.
I’m going this week to Reno to the Sew Original Quilt & Creative Expo held at the Grand Sierra Hotel. Wish you would be there. I’m taking 2 classes by a Judy Neimeyer certified instructor. I know nothing about paper piecing but I will learn.
This show has classes, vendors and a quilt show too. Looking forward to your next post. Fran

Just had a delicious giant California artichoke for dinner last night! Thank you for the chance for the gloss goodie bag.

  • Anita

  • Pat Godkin

Does it count if I say ” well okey dokey artichokey? Because II love artichokes whether or not I eat them or embroider them, and having a bag of Cosmo floss fits the bill!

  • Kristine Dauth

I’ve never used Cosmos floss but would love the chance to win some, especially in Artichoke, which would match my new kitchen beautifully. I can see some newly embroidered flour sack towels to match my artichoke colored walls.

  • Lyn Smith

Have to admit that I’ve never eaten artichoke, will have to try them one day, but I do love Cosmo threads. Thanks for the chance to win a bag of these lovely threads
