Studio

January, a fresh new month

I love the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day.  No one really expects me to be working so it gives me time to clean and reorganize.   I use this week to take down Christmas decorations and clean my studio while I watch all the shows I’ve recorded over the past month.  I think it might be the best week of the entire year!

New Shelf_

One of the first things I did last week, was to find a place for the beautiful white shelf my friend Robin gave me.  It fits perfectly on top of the pottery barn hutch on my desk, and once I cleared the clutter off the hutch the rest was fun. To think I did all of this while watching Project Runway Junior.

Clearing clutter is the key to organizing anything.  It makes you feel refreshed and in charge.  I moved everything on the floor, and started with a clean slate.  As I put things back into their new home I had things left over.  These went into two stacks;  keepers and donations.  Donations immediately went into a large garbage bag, and I put it in the garage for the next pick up.  The rule is, once you’ve put something in the donation pile, you can’t take it out.  Chances are you don’t really need it.  Some of the keepers I’m still trying to find room for.  I may have to reconsider.

I also have a new organizer that I purchased from Levenger.   I absolutely love this planner and I even ordered the red leather Circa cover for it.  Then I used my new fountain pen that Sue got me from Jet Pens, and filled in all of the things I have scheduled for 2016.  I swear I feel like a queen when I use this (my husband would tell you I should feel like a queen after all the money I’ve spent)! It goes hand in hand with getting organized for the new year!

Planner

As I was going doing all of this in the studio, my husband was going through some of my old patterns in storage.  He found a stack of Jelly Roses patterns, so we decided to add them back on my website.

Jelly Roses

There must have been a time when I made hundreds of these roses. We sold so many patterns I’m sure each one of you probably has the pattern somewhere in your stash. If you’re anything like me you may have purchased two.   Just in case you didn’t, you can find this pattern on our website.

25% off sale on our website!

I hope you’re enjoying our 25% off sale over the next three days.  We only do this sale twice a year, once in January and once in July so don’t miss out.  25% off everything on our website through January 7th.

Chick Jubilee!

Before I forget, another pattern that just might put you in a spring mood is Chick Jubilee!  Yes, we’ll have this on our website for a long time yet, but it’s getting harder and harder to find the original fabrics.  Remember when I told you in my last post about Quilting By The Bay in Panama City, Florida?   They still have Chick Jubilee available with the ORIGINAL fabrics!  How can you stand not having these chicks in your home for Easter?

Chick Jubilee

If I had more room I would buy it myself.  Just kidding…

Have a great week.  I’ll be back after the sale to update you on some things to come.

I love the week between holidays, too! This year we find ourselves drowning in grandbabies, which is definitely a good thing. It also seems to use up our time (in such a happy way), so I’m not immersed in organizing or crafting or quilting as I usually am this time of year. I’m quickly putting some finishing touches on a late ornament as I wait for one of the little darlings to arrive :) Happy New Year, Anne!

Nothing like a fresh new start. My planner is ready for a new year, and the donation pile is rapidly growing. Am I the only person who does NOT have the pattern for jelly roses? Off to check it out….. Happy New Year!
