Snap Shots Update
Most of the children in our area went back to school on Tuesday. I don’t know what happened to 3 months off during the summer and back to school in September, but here they started school on the hottest day we’ve had so far (106). No wonder it seems like time is flying by.
I’ve finally had a little time to catch up on the Fat Quarter Shop Snap Shots quilt blocks! These blocks are really fun to make and if you haven’t started yet, you can still get the pattern on the Jolly Jabber blog. I’m using assorted fat quarters from American Jane’s “Fresh Air” fabric line. I’ve mixed in some solid Moda Bella’s for contrast, and so far I love how it’s looking.
Are you ready for my Snap Shots blocks?
I’ve got to find some better “puppy” eyes. I thought about embroidering his eyes, but maybe I’ll find the perfect black buttons. I’ll wait and decide when all the blocks are done. In just a few weeks it will be time for Fat Quarter Shop to release that darling bicycle block! I think it’s my favorite block in the quilt.
Thank you Fat Quarter Shop for designing a darling quilt for a wonderful cause!

Your blocks are so sweet in those prints! That bicycle block looks like it’s going to be pretty challenging, but I can’t wait to see it done in 30″s fabrics.

I love these. I may have to copy you. I have a nice stack of Fresh Air Fat Quarters already and no project assigned to them! Thanks for the inspiration ☺

Love your blocks and fabrics! I used black wool circles for the eyes on my puppy and that worked well. I just fused, but will also blanket stitch down.

Love your blocks! A departure from your usual style, but so adorable. I’ve always loved 30s prints, and these blocks are perfect for those. I’m waiting for that bicycle block too….this quilt has only gotten as far as my wish list, but it’s fun watching you make yours :)

106?!?!? oh my, you are killing me – too hot for me!
However, that Snap Shots quilt is just adorable – I’m quite partial to the dog block. I haven’t started it yet, but I’m saving all the patterns to make it sometime – thanks for sharing your blocks – they are wonderful!!

where do you live that the children go back to school so early in the summer. Here in Arkansas they go the middle of August but I have heard the kids in Kentucky go back by August 5th or so.

Anne!
So cute!! How is it everything you make is so cute? I am still struggling with value & color. I’m taking an all-day class in Houston that should help!
Love,

Darling as always! What cute fabrics.
We always had off from Memorial Day to Labor Day. I guess that’s not the case anymore. I don’t know how parents keep up with it.
