Moda Love Blog Tour, Bunny Hill Day!

moda-love_header

Welcome to Bunny Hill Day on the Moda Love Blog Tour!  We’re talking about things we love today and I’m posting along with Deb Strain and Kansas Troubles !

I know many of you haven’t seen it yet, so I’m sharing my latest love from Moda, Mistletoe Lane.  It’s my newest fabric line that’s due to ship to stores in January!

I love that I design for Moda and get to create such fun fabrics!  Mistletoe Lane includes a special “tag” panel that I designed for my Mistletoe Lane advent quilt.  Stitch up the tags and they fit in the pockets on the quilt.   There’s even a pocket on the panel, for the back of the quilt.  The pocket will hold the tags when they’re not in use.

I love that I can design a goose named “Cinnamon” and make her the star of the Mistletoe Lane quilt!  She’s one happy goose, and you can even make “Cinnamon” ornaments to match your quilt! She’s my newest petite pattern coming in November!

I love that I can take a Mini Charm pack of Mistletoe Lane and use the Moda Love pattern to make a mini version of the quilt!

Here’s the basic pattern that makes a Layer Cake, Charm Pack or Mini-Charm Pack quilt.

Moda Love Pattern

Basic Grey-scale quilt

Since Mini quilts are so popular now, I’m into making minis!

I took the Moda Love Pattern, used a Mini Charm of Mistletoe Lane,  cut a 3 1/2″ square for the center, and then added a 1″ finished border.

Here’s my block (notice that it has pink, my favorite color in it):

Then I just couldn’t help myself since I’m in LOVE with any kind of applique!  I added some wool applique to the block:

You could also make a mini charm block quilt and put wool stars in the centers.  Oh if I just had more time!   If you’d like the bunny pattern I’ve included it below!

If I had to choose just one pre-cut as my favorite, I’d pick the fat quarter bundle.  Leave me a comment telling me what your favorite pre-cut is, and you could win a Mistletoe Lane Jelly Roll.  I’ll be giving one away on Saturday, September 13th!

It’s going to be a great weekend for some of you because every designer on this blog hop has a giveaway!  It’s Moda Love from the Moda designers!

You’ll find a list with all the blog hop designers here.  Be sure and leave a comment on all the blogs.  You can’t win if you don’t comment and someone out there is going to be very happy!

Happy blog hopping!

    Hi Anne,
Thanks for the Moda love bunny pattern! I love it.
And thanks for the giveaway chance!
It depends on my plans if I love to use a FQ bundle or a jelly roll :-)
    Both are great!

    Greetings, Gera

Oh I just love FQ bundles too…all the possibilities and all the scraps. Thanks for the cute bunny, I am seeing so many ideas on the blog hop it’s hard to pick just a few to do!

  • Kathleen O'Grady

I just love your Mistletoe Collection, it looks like so much fun. Your mini with the bunny is A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E!! You are so creative. My favorite precut is the fat quarter but you can’t go wrong with any of them. Thanks for the chance to win!

  • Brenda Peplinskie

My favourite pre-cut is the fat quarter. You can get a large variety of fabric without spending a lot of money, and they go a long way. Especially when I’m making the scrappy quilts I love. Your fabric is so beautiful and refreshing!!

Your new fabric collection is perfect for Winter. So pretty.

I love your little bunny addition to the block. Thank you for giving us your cute bunny.

My favorite precut would be a fat quarter bundle. I can’t always afford to buy those however, so often I purchase charm packs. Recently too, I just purchased a bunch of mini charm packs when there was an awesome sale.

Enjoy using the mini charms…just fun, but I am curious about the new Moda precut, Jolly Bars.

Loved your wool appliqué ideas for the quilt!! Have made some BH stuffed cuties…which always brings a smile!! BH is just “happy” fabric fun.

    Thanks for the giveaway.

I’m with you — I love the versatility of having fat quarter bundles. But really, I love (and use) pretty much any form of pretty fabric. I’d love to win the jelly roll!

  • Sunnybec

I love all precuts, it really depends what I am making as to which one I love the best! I think the layer cake is good for making bigger quilts, but the charms are good for minis, and jelly rolls can be used in lots of ways, 2.1/2″ squares, or for sashing…. Thanks for the chance.

  • Cindi P

My favorite precut is the fat quarter bundle but since it is so expensive, I usually buy jelly rolls or layer cakes. Thanks for the chance to win!

  • Vicki Gray

I love your design with the little tags….perfect to make an advent quilt….I think I love fat quarters since it allows you to cut many sizes of squares or shapes. Also they are big enough for applique designs. I also love jelly rolls since they make easy work of bindings or small borders…can you tell I love fabric cuts of any size?

  • Paulette Doyle

I too love the Fat Quarter Bundle…you can make SEW much more with it! And what quilter doesn’t LOVE more fabric!! heehee Jelly Rolls are great too…and I would be THRILLED to win this Mistletoe Lane JR!! Thanks for the chance!

Great new fabric line, Anne! Since it comes out in January we will have lots of time to make the new Christmas patterns for next year. Fat quarter bundles are my favorite precut because you can really see the design of the fabrics especially when there are larger prints included. I agree, it is a luxury to be able to get those but it is nice when there are smaller FQ bundles offered as there sometimes are when there are wovens included in the line or when certain colorways are offered separately. Thanks so much for the bunny pattern and for the chance to win.

  • Gloria B

To be honest, Inever seem to have the money for a fat quarter bundle! So the precut I have bought most is the charm pack though my favourite bundle to use (rather than store and pet) is the layer cake as there are so many lovely quilts one can make with just one layercake.

I love FQ bundles but that’s a real luxury for me.

So lots of times, it’s the minicharms that satisfy my sampling of a line of fabrics. As always, I love, love, love your fabric line as pink is my favorite color!

I like fat quarters the best. I am really excited about all the possibilities you showed us with Mistletoe Lane and can’t wait to find it in stores. Thank you for the inspirations and the chance to win.

  • Cory

I am like you and love the Fat Quarter Bundle the best. I love your new fabric line and can’t wait for it to come out. Thank you for all you do. Take care and God bless, Cory

I like to work with charm packs and jelly rolls; combined they make a neat lap quilt. Mistletoe Lane puts everyone in the holiday spirit. Happy Quilting.

  • Christine

My favorite pre-cut is the FQ bundle, although I purchase a lot more charm packs, just for the cost difference… it’s fun to be able to make a scrappy looking project with a charm pack. :)

Your bunny is adorable – I love the wool appliqué over the patchwork!

  • Helen

I love your Moda block and the fact that you appliques a bunny on it. How perfect is that?

My favorite pre-cut is the fat quarter bundle, but I reserve getting one unless I really love the fabric line.

  • Laura

I can’t just pick one pre cut, I do love them all for different reasons. Fat quarters you can do more but charms you just grab and sew! Thanks for the Bunny Applique, love what you did with it! Looking forward to your new line Mistletoe Lane!!

  • kathy

Love your Mistletoe Lane fabric! Your mini quilt is so pretty. I think my favorite precut is the jelly roll. Thank you for all of your sweet and wonderful patterns.

  • Kelly Sampson

My favorite pre-cut is the fat quarter bundle! The possibilities are limitless with this size and I love the coordinated fabrics! This line is gorgeous, keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks for the chance!
