Warning! Watch out for the Dresden Bug!
This little bug can be hazardous. She may look innocent, but once you get her she’ll give you Dresden fever…
…and then look at what can happen!
Kim came to work today and collapsed. She collapsed from the weight of all the Dresden Plates she made over the weekend. She got the bug!
Plates were flying everywhere in the studio. Poor Chelsea tried to help but didn’t really know what to do…
It all started when the bug got into Kim’s sewing room. That bug made her so feverish she couldn’t stop sewing…not even to fix dinner for her poor family.
She’s been sewing all weekend and her husband told me he thinks she’s even ordered more fabric.
I made Chelsea stay with her today because Chelsea’s had all her shots! I hope this isn’t contagious.
I’ve never seen so many Dresden Plates in my life! Dang bugs! We may never get any work done. :>)

Thank you Anne and Kim for the good chuckle this morning! I love all of the Dresdens and what can I say Miss Chelsea is once again the star! My newest addiction is hexagons. Gotta love quilting!

You are so right about the dresden being addictive. Especially how they are done using your tutorial. Great post. I have made 20 using all yellow so they look like a sunflower. Can’t wait to finish.

THat is soo funny! Thanks for the laugh! Gorgeous plates! So now I know how I came down with Shingles! Was wondering what could have compromised my immune system! Actually my quarantine is how i finished my quilt top! Eyeing my scraps for a recurrance of symptoms..Dresden that is, NOT shingles!!!

I’ve been bitten too! I can hardly wait to start my next one. After seeing so many different color combo’s from the others on flicker, there’s certainly enough inspiration for many more. I just want to stay home from work and sew, sew, sew!!

Love the mix of fabrics Kim chose. She has given me the Dresden fever! I am inspired by her efforts. I thought I was too late to get started and enjoy the fun.

You know this could turn into a Pandemic. Quick call the CDC. I feel a need for a”Quarantine” coming on. Proper medications include plent of fabric, thread, sewing machine and hot chocolate. It may take some time to fully recover. Please extend my sympathies to the family of the afflicted. Only time will see them through this critical phase.
Best of luck on a less than full recovery. :)

So, Dresden Plates are the cooties of the quilting world? I’m assuming there are no vaccinations available…

Oh my, I have also been attacked by the Dresden bug, but not to this extent! Lucky Kim, to have Chelsea at her side. Those plates are all so beautiful! Sorry Kim, I had to laugh when I saw the first photo, until I realized how stricken you really are….
Karen

This is the olny kind of ‘bug’ to get! I love how it has seemingly spread around the globe! I think I may have caught it now – I want to make some too!!
Chelsea can’t “cure’ the ‘bug’ – she just makes it even more fun :)
These Dresdens are just beautiful. What a great post. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
Tanis
What a funny blog today! I LOVE it! I, too, have the bug. You didn’t warn us about this when you started this Scrappy Plate club! I sense a conspiracy…

I am loving this new addiction! I made 8 plates over the weekend and cut out enough blades to make a dozen more. The only thing that slowed me down was the fact that my machine is in the repair shop! So I started making them by hand.

Oh, this is funny. I’m reporting from Finland and telling you that the bug has crossed the borderline between Norway and Finland. I think I have no choice but to sew more after seen those funny pictures.
Leeanne
Dresden just have that way with people! I love Kim’s fabrics, yummy warm and country. Are they done on the sewing machine or EPP?
May Britt
I too have the dresden bug in my house. And it is spreading in Norway too.
Michelle

This post is hilarious! Oh, but so true, I too stitched all 20 of my dresdens together this weekend. I used Amy Butler fabrics. It rained all weekend, I never even went outside! I don’t think there is a cure for this dresden bug either! I have all 20 done now, so I am ready to start stitching them down to my background. Right after I stitch together a quick Turning Twenty Baby Gift Quilt for Adalie!

Those Dresden plates are gorgeous! Dreseden Bug is a good bug to get if you have to get the bug! And of course the dogs are so good at taking care of us when we do.
Kristy
This is hilarious! What great pictures. Not sure I want to start my dresden’s after these pictures! Seems a bit addicting. :-) Thanks for making me laugh! K-
