• Happy Spring!

Happy spring everyone!   For the first time in ages I got outside for a bit today and look at what’s happening in my yard!  Roses are everywhere!  I have a section filled with lavender and it smells so heavenly.  There’s nothing I like better than garden roses and the scent of fresh lavender.         Who knew such beauties were filling my yard?  Certainly not me, I’ve been at the computer for days working on new patterns!   But tomorrow we’ll be celebrating Easter with our grandchildren.  I’ve planned an egg hunt and everyone will get a chocolate bunny (of course).    I hope all of you have a…

  • Happy Dance Quilt

Some quilts just make me happy!  That’s how I felt when I saw Irene Baldock’s version of “A Tisket, A Tasket”.  Irene lives in the UK and sent a photo of her finished quilt.  I  love the fabrics and colors she used! …and here’s another treat!  Irene’s version of Henrietta Whiskers! I’m doing the happy dance Irene!  I love your quilts! You can see more versions of Henrietta in my Flickr group.   You’ll never know how much you all inspire me!  A big thank you to each and everyone of you who are making this quilt! Have a great day everyone! Hugs,   Anne

  • Happy April 5th!

Can you believe it’s April 5th? It’s Henrietta Whiskers day here at Bunny Hill!  I have a drop in class today for Henrietta Whiskers at In-Between Stitches in Livermore, California.   The nicest group of ladies attend and today I’m doing a demo on machine applique. Have you tried machine applique using DMC machine embroidery 50 wt. thread?  It’s so much fun, and of course really, really fast!  If you don’t have the DMC thread see if you have any Mettler 60wt. and then click on my tutorial section.  You’ll find a simple “how to” for machine applique. We’ll be using machine applique a lot during the next few weeks…

  • Designer Cat

Excitement is running high this week at Bunny Hill!  Puttin’ on the Ritz advance yardage has arrived! I don’t know who’s more excited about the arrival me or Mooch!  Mooch is really attracted to this fabric line and I think it might have something to do with the beautiful gray color.  As soon as I cut up some little squares she was right there in the middle of everything! Here she is daring me to move her… This is a cat’s life at Bunny Hill!   Did you know Mooch can read? It’s true!  Here she is reading the words on the fabric! My, I have a smart cat!  She…

  • Fabric Scraps Anyone?

I’m still waiting on my new fabric to arrive and decided if I made room for it, the arrival would happen sooner.  Maybe it’s wishful thinking.  After cleaning I now have 3 empty shelves in the studio just waiting to be filled again, but the day bed is now filled with fabric scraps!  Something has to go. I’ve decided to have a Scrappy Giveaway!  Yes, it’s exactly as it sounds, bags of scraps from the Bunny Hill Studio. Here’s my Henrietta Whiskers scrap bag…no it’s not enough to make the quilt but it will get you started… pieces of leftover wool, and a few wool stars cut by me and…
