• Did you know llamas can ski?

Did you know that llamas can ski?  It’s true!  They have wonderful balance because of their midsection and skinny legs.  They can ice-skate too, and when they hit the slopes with their snowman friends it becomes a magical event!  Welcome to Merry Merry Snow Days, my newest block of the month and quilt kit from Moda! This is such a fun quilt to make and starting in April (when the fabric ships) I’ll be giving you kit tips and ideas for applique and embroidery. If you join me and sew along, I’ll make sure you get your quilt finished in time for Christmas.  The kit will come with the pattern and…

  • Snowmen Warm Your Heart

I can never get enough snowmen.  There’s just something about the little guys that makes me happy! When I was at Fall market last October I saw Lisa’s Snowman Gatherings fabric and I had to have it. Now, a few months later, we’ve turned it into a new version of Postcard Cuties for Winter! We made the snowmen from wool and used a jelly roll, charm pack and a bit of yardage for the remainder of the quilt.   I’m busy updating the pattern and the new version should be ready in a few weeks.  The fabric doesn’t ship until April so you’ll have to wait a bit.  We hope…

  • It’s finally a Quilt!

Snowmen are coming to town this holiday season!   It’s Snowbound time at Bunny Hill!  There’s nothing like finishing a quilt and being able to finally use it!  If you’ve joined me in making Snowbound, I hope you’ll enjoy yours as much as I’m enjoying mine! I’ve gathered up a few of my favorite snowmen and Snowbound is hanging in my dining room for the holidays.  Come on in! They key to a good display is to vary the height. You can easily create height with a few empty boxes, some scraps of your favorite quilting fabric, ribbon and pins.  You can reuse the fabric after Christmas so don’t worry about…

  • Snowbound Block Eight!

Block eight is here!   Another month has gone by and now Mr. August is arriving in a wagon.  As you can see my “Snowbound” is quilted and ready for Christmas!  Yours will be too in no time at all! I hope you’ve been working on your Irish Chain blocks and assembling your quilt by rows so you can see it coming together! Tell me where the year has gone?  Did you notice it flying by?  Only four more snowbound blocks left, can you believe it?   We’ll be decorating for Christmas before you know it! If you received my newsletter this morning you know it’s “I Love My Pet” month at Bunny Hill!  Email or…

  • Happy 4th of July!

Surprise!  It’s July 4th and I’m in the mood to celebrate! Here’s block seven of  “Snowbound” a day early, just in case you have time to sew today in-between barbecues and fireworks!  Just click on “Free” on the top bar of my blog, scroll down the page and you’ll find the pattern! My “Snowbound” quilt just came back from Lynne my quilter and it’s ready for the pretty red binding.  All of my embellishments were stitched on ahead of time so I could take photos, so Lynne had to quilt “around” them. This wasn’t easy and she went above and beyond for me.   She deserves extra applause!  Can’t wait…
