The Bears Are In!

Happy Friday everyone!

The bears are in thanks to all of you!  How could my husband resist after reading your comments?  He happily carried the bears back inside, and now I think I’ll find a place for them every year.  Tradition, isn’t it wonderful?

I’ve put them in a vintage pink cradle I’ve been saving for something special.  The cradle is large enough for triplets so the bears feel right at home.

This brown bear peaking out from the back is a vintage teddy bear.  He’s well loved, a bit saggy and I think he’s my favorite!  He found a home with me the minute I saw him.  He’s a shabby chic bear in every way!

How many bears can you fit in a cradle?  Lots, if they’ll share the space!

One bear (Arnold) lives  in my studio.  He’s handmade by The Vintage Magpie in Europe!  Maybe he should join his friends at Christmas but I can’t  “bear” to part with him even for a week or two!

As for those little bundles that I showed you in the studio?  We’ve packaged them up and the winners are listed below (if you’re on this list the random number generator loves you so email me your address at info@bunnyhilldesigns.com!):

A Christmas Without Bears?

I spent the weekend decorating for Christmas like many of you.  My husband drug out all the boxes, stacked them in the center of the garage and asked “are you doing the bears this year?”  ” Think I’ll skip a year” I said.  “Maybe they’re getting a bit old, year after year.”

And then tonight I found these pictures…

“So you’re done now, right?  I can put all these boxes away?”  “Yes, all finished!”, I said.  But that was before I found the photos.

I don’t have the heart to tell him my little friends can’t sit outside in plastic bins.  I don’t know where I’ll put them now that all the decorations are up, but they have to come in and be part of our holiday tradition.   Call me sentimental.  He’s put away all the boxes so I think I’ll just link him to this blog post.  Who can resist these bears?

While I’m working on finding a place for my bears, I found another picture for you!  Would you like to win a few of these tiny little bundles?  Packages of 2  1/2″ x 2  1/2″ squares of Lily & Will II!

Leave me a comment and 12 of you are going to win 3 little bundles each of yellow and aqua Lily & Will II!  Oh the fun you can have with these little squares!  I’ll announce the 12 winners Friday December 3rd!

Have a great week everyone!

Hugs,

Anne

The longest contest in blog history!

It’s been two months since I started my “guess the theme of my newest block of the month” contest.   It’s about time to announce the winner don’t you think?  I had to make sure the prize included the pattern AND bundles of my newest fabric line Lily & Will II.  Finally everything is ready and we have a winner!  I printed out your emails as they came in with the correct answer and this morning I randomly picked a lucky winner!

Here’s the grand prize!  Did I mention it includes some Cath Kidston sewing tins?

And here’s the winner!

Nancy Brooks who gave me this guess on August 29th:

“Anne…OK I am guessing a mouse!!! As in The Night Before Christmas!!!!!”

Congratulations Nancy!  I’ll be emailing you for your address and this prize will be in the mail to you this week!

Then as I sadly looked at the stack of emails, I knew I had to give away a few of “The Night Before Christmas” pattern!  You all tried so hard and I really threw you off with some of my hints. It just wasn’t fair!  Some of you guessed over and over!

So, if you see your name in the list below, you’ve won the pattern!  Email me with your address at info@bunnyhilldesigns.com!

  1. Maribeth:  On August 31st she guessed:  “I think it might be a cute mouse in a cozy little house as in Twas the Night Before Christmas!”
  2. Laura: I think she may have been the first to guess!  On August 17th she wrote: I am thinking maybe “A Visit From Saint Nick”? Or as it is more commonly known, “The Night Before Christmas”.  That little bit of pink would be perfect for a mouses nose!”
  3. Liz:  On August 24th she guessed: “Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house…..the mouse! Love that story and I think my grandkids would like to see that quilt in my house!”
  4. Kelly Stockstill:  On September 1st she guessed: “It has to be Twas the Night Before Christmas with a little mouse!  I can’t believe it took so many clues for it to click, I must need some rest!”
  5. Marcella Bradley:  On August 18th she first guessed cats were the critter.  I told her no cats so she wrote back and said “Gosh!  Well, then I guess The Night Before Christmas!”

And there we have it!  It was so much fun to read all of your guesses!  As I was working on the mice it made me smile that so many of you were thinking Paris.  Hummm, maybe next year!

Hugs to all who entered!

Bitsy Says Thank You!

Bitsy says thank you to all of you who may have come to my blog sometime during the past few weeks to see if I’ve posted something new.  Thank you for for being so patient when you saw her photo over and over.  Thank you for understanding how busy her mom is, and how she just nevvvvvver lets her blog go this long unless she’s tethered to the computer.  And well, thank you for looking at Bitsy and not saying “oh it’s still that darn dog”.  If you did she forgives you.  She’s been suffering from attention deprivation too.

Sweet relief is on the way!  This week I can play just a bit and maybe you’ll even hear a few tweets!  I just  finished the last sample for market!  She jumped right off  The Night Before Christmas quilt.

So if you like this quilt…

You just might like my newest pincushion!

Bitty Mouse!

She’s ready to hold your pins, or forget the pincushion base and place her in your Christmas tree.  She’ll be so happy!  Why she could even peek out of a stocking or sit on your mantle.  And best of all?  She’s easy to make!  The pattern will be for sale on my web site Friday!

For all of you who entered my contest oh so long ago, if you guessed the name of my quilt I’ll be picking a winner this week!  Finally!  One of you is going to win a fun prize!  Yeahhhhh!! It’s about time don’t you think?

You’ll also get sneak peeks at new fabric and patterns.  All of this is happening because I’m in such a great mood!  I leave for market a week from Wednesday!

Hugs to each and every one of you!

Anne
