Quilt Market

Oliso on its way!

Dear Mary in Texas,

Oliso emailed to say your iron is on the way!

Hugs,

Anne

P.S.  Your charm pack is also on the way.  Please wait for your Oliso to arrive before you iron it!

If your name isn’t Mary and you don’t live in Texas, you can still have this iron!  You’ll just have to break down and buy one like I did.   Think of how much you’ve spent on fabric (or maybe you shouldn’t) and the iron will seem like pennies.  Email me if you buy one and let me know how you like it!

Today on Moda Pillow Talk is the beautiful and talented Camille from Thimble Blossoms.  I should have said beautiful, talented and sweet because she is one of the sweetest designers ever!  Oh and something she doesn’t mention is that how good she is with photography!  She took the time one market to give me some quick lessons with my camera.  As busy as she was she took the time to help!

Every time I look at her blog I feel like I need to clean house.  Something about the name “Simplify” that makes me want to simplify.  So guess what I’m doing today?  I am moving my desk around in the studio!  I’ve faced the wall for 4 years and I’ve always wanted to work facing out.  Today I’m giving it a try.  I’m not one that has the patience to “graph” things out so I just do it.  I may end up moving it right back, but unless I try I’ll never know.  I’m the same way when I set up my booth at market…don’t graph it out let’s just try it.  Drives everyone nuts.   Are you a furniture mover yourself?

Now just in case I’m still moving furniture tomorrow, I want to remind you to visit Barb and Mary over at Me & My Sister!  They are so funny they make me cry with laughter!  Go there right now and you’ll see what I mean!  We were right across from them when they presented their Iron Cozy pattern.  Can you imagine how much fun we had?  When I joined Moda they made me feel so welcome it was like old home week.  I absolutely adore them and always pray I’m near them at market.  Come spring market we are right next to each other!  I’m so excited!

I sure am a mover, in fact my whole family moves furniture and stuff, makes our spouses crazy!! We usually have to do it by ourselves, so we call ourselves The Lone Re-arrangers!
Hope we get to see the new move – your studio was all ready so cute!!

Move stuff? Been there, done that. About a zillion times of here, no there, how about over there. Now my DH balks, as does my bod. So now if it seems imperative, I do have to draw little graphs and move furniture before hand. Then it’s a big deal to get it done. But planning ahead really does work. Just not as creative :-)

Congrats to Mary! I’m so jealous, I have had my eye on an Oliso. Do you love yours?

Thanks, but if you saw my house right now you’d feel pretty darn good about yours. Trust me. I can’t believe you remember that. Seems like forever ago, Did you ever figure out that ExpoDisc?

Hi Anne! Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your pillow and your answers on the Blog Hop! Sadly (but true!) my kids just taught me how to comment…so I’m a little late. I’ve always admired your beautiful work and now I admire your blog too!
    Happy Valentine’s Day,
    Always,
    Deb

I am so jazzed!! I keep looking at the announcement to make sure it is really for me! And then I squeal just like the first time. Thank you so much Anne, and Oliso, for this awesome prize.

I agree – your blog is THE BEST!! and your readers are so amazing too! What a great idea about the mirrors! and even if you move everything and then put it back – it’s a great time to clean up stuff. (It’s amazing what I find when I (finally!) move stuff around – even though it has to go back in the same place (sadly, the room is pretty small but I’m grateful for having a little space of my own.)

Congratulations to Mary in Texas! Whoo!Hoo! to you. Let us all know how much you love the iron (but that doesn’t mean we really love to iron)!

I’m a mover! I just moved my whole sewing set up around the other day only to move it back again, but now it is clean under everything and everything is in it’s place. Time for a new project!

Anne, your blog posts are so fun! You made me even feel glad that Mary won that wonderful iron instead of me! Well, maybe not quite. But I’m sure she’ll love it. Congratulations, Mary in Texas!

Just a comment about your moving your desk to face outwards instead of facing the wall. I don’t know your wall/room situation, but if it happens you end up moving the desk back to facing the wall (and it’s a blank wall), do what I did and put a mirror on that wall. We needed to install new bathroom mirrors before we showed and sold our home, so we re-purposed three mirrors (each about 4×4) by putting nice frames around them that my husband built. Two are in different bedrooms, and the third is right in front of my desk! It seems like I am facing outwards! I can see everything going on behind me, and I love it! Just an idea!
