Christmas Quilts
I’ve designed so many Christmas quilts over the years, my house is filled with them. Not all at once of course. Many remain folded on the shelves, waiting for a chance to be shared. From my very first one, Catch A Christmas Star, to my latest one, Mistletoe Lane, there are many in-between. I thought it’d be fun to decorate this blog post with them. Are you ready? Quick Gifts
I bought a few 5″ x 5″ black frames (inside opening) for quilt market to display some of my Halloween quilt blocks. The blocks looked cute in the frames, but they were destined for my new Halloween quilt. So after market I removed the quilt blocks and I was left with empty frames that needed filling. I decided to play around with some of those cute buttons I have on my website. It was so simple to let the buttons do the work. I used Mochi Linen for the background fabric, and traced the stocking and sheep curve with the edge of a small plate. Then I embroidered the lines with a stem stitch and 2 strands…

Snapshots Quilt
Remember the Snapshots quilt from Fat Quarter Shop that I’ve been making all year? Well, I’ve finally finished my version and it’s one of three quilts on Ebay up for auction by The Fat Quarter Shop! All the proceeds from the sale of these quilts go to St. Jude Children’s Hospital! This was a really fun quilt to make and I’m grateful to The Fat Quarter Shop for asking me to join in the quilt along. You can see all three quilts on the Jolly Jabber blog. Fat Quarter Baby
We had some fun playing around with The Fat Quarter Shop’s new book “Fat Quarter Baby“. It’s a book filled with 20 of the cutest baby quilts ever! Ten quilts for little girls and 10 for little boys. If you’re looking for a quick and easy quilt for a baby boy, “Andrew” the whale is perfect. He looks cute in so many fabrics. I wanted to see how he’d look with a bit of a modern twist, so I tried him in taupe and grey using Moda’s basic “Dottie”. I love dots, and it’s been fun to see these little whales come together. Leaving town again
I keep thinking I’ll fit in a blog post any day now, but here I am getting ready to get on a plane for Portland this morning with not much done. I’m flying to Holly Hill Quilt Shoppe along with 4 other designers to show 150 ladies how to make our little Christmas projects! I’ll just give you a quick run down on my schedule so you’ll understand why there’s not been a peep from me. I got my fabric two weeks before market. Need I say more? The Making of Merci La Vie for the American Cancer Society
If you haven’t heard If you haven’t heard, over the last 6 months we’ve been making a second Merci la Vie quilt at Bunny Hill. Yes, I said a second quilt! It’s a very special version of Merci la Vie because it’s been hand appliqued by women who have either experienced breast cancer, or had a friend or relative with it. Every stitch is dedicated to women all over the world. I’ve had a lot of help from some very special women, and I’ve shipped blocks to be appliqued to Norway, Australia, Utah, Arizona, California and Idaho.
