• What kind of quilter are you?

Are you a “clutter” quilter or a “neatness” quilter?  Just look around your sewing area and you’ll know.  Are you surrounded with stacks of fabric and tables filled with works in progress, or do you have a place for everything and only one project out at a time? I’m a neatness quilter and I can only function for a short time in a messy space.  When we’re working on new patterns my studio always becomes a disaster.  I’m forced to become the clutter quilter, and I’m not fit to live with.  I start thinking about throwing things out, rearranging furniture, giving things away and other drastic measures. Last week my…

  • The gangs all here to announce the winners

Wasn’t the Moda blog hop fun? I hope you watched the video from Barb and Mary because it was so cute!  How they think this stuff up I don’t know, but I love it and they always make me laugh! Now it’s finally time to pick the winners of some Mistletoe Lane fabric.  It’s my newest fabric line from Moda.   Since this is the MODA LOVE blog hop I called upon some of my very own “loves” to help me choose the winners. They make up my committee and they take this job very seriously.   Chelsea begged to give something to each and every one of you… …but she…

I love that I design for Moda and get to create such fun fabrics!  Mistletoe Lane includes a special “tag” panel that I designed for my Mistletoe Lane advent quilt.  Stitch up the tags and they fit in the pockets on the quilt.   There’s even a pocket on the…

  • My first quilt museum visit!

Guess where I was this past weekend?  On Friday I was in Lincoln, Nebraska on my first quilt museum tour.  I went behind the scenes at the International Quilt study Center & Museum.  It was absolutely amazing and I could have easily spent days just looking at the quilts they have in storage.  Oh how I wanted to open each box!   The exhibit on display was called “Log Cabin’s and Kit Quilts”.  This was my favorite Log Cabin ever! From Lincoln I drove to Gretna, Nebraska for a fun retreat at the Minglewood Lodge!   The Minglewood Lodge is owned by Debbie Roberts who also owns The Quilted Moose quilt…
