• Michelle lives in Portland

Project Runway Do you watch Project Runway?  I tape all the shows just so I don’t miss one.  If you were cheering for Michelle when she won Project Runway, you are not alone, and guess what?  She lives in Portland, right where quilt market is going to be (ok, maybe not right where quilt market is, but I’m sure she’s close by).  I would love, love, love to meet her!  She should be an inspiration to all of us because she picked herself up when she was down and came out on top. Holly Hill Also very near Portland is a fabulous quilt shop called Holly Hill.  It’s a must…

  • Bring in the new

It gets so crazy around here right before market.  You’d think I’d be used to it, but it never ceases to amaze me.  It’s market frenzy time and it takes every minute I have to get ready.  My husband cooks, feeds the pets, shops and takes care of the house, just so I can design quilts and write patterns.  Bless his heart, it’s a routine we automatically fall into.  I couldn’t do it without him. Yesterday we cleaned our storage room and pulled out fabrics we totally forgot we had.  You’ll find them in the sale section on my website at 50% off.  These are fabrics left from quilts and kits.  You may find something you still need to make one of…

  • We have a Winner!

I stopped by Random.org to let them pick a winner for the lovely “S is for Stitch” book.  They do things in such “randomness”,  they make it easy to pick someone. I just put in the numbers, hit enter, and ta da a winner is declared! Ellen M #194 who happened to comment: “Such charming designs.  I’m getting back into embroidery after a very long time, so this would be a great inspiration.  Many thanks for the chance!”   Congratulations Ellen, I hope your stitching away and loving it very soon!  And thank you Kristyne for writing such a wonderful book!  Hats off to you!
