• APQ Quilt Along, The Blocks

The closer it gets to Christmas, the more overwhelmed we tend to feel.  It’s hard to find time for quilting when Christmas shopping is front and center.  I know you don’t have a minute to spare, but think how great you will feel if you start the New Year with something new to work on.  Making something at the start of the year will show everyone that yes indeed, you are going to use that fabric you bought last year.  Yes indeed, you are going to finish something you started.  Yes, Yes, Yes!   You can do it! Choose some fabric you love and get ready to sew this quilt!…

  • HollyHill, Homespun and Holly

The season is coming at us and I’m starting off with a class at Holly Hill quilt shop in west Lynne Oregon this weekend!  Homespun and Holly is an annual event at the shop and it’s so much fun.  If you ever get a chance to sign up, don’t hesitate, just do it. I think they start taking reservations sometime in July, and I guarantee you’ll have a great time. My schedule is a bit crazy now, because I leave for Hollyhill tomorrow morning,  and on Friday, my son Doug, Elke and Lily arrive from Germany!  I’ll be home again on Sunday, but I have 2 days without my Lily…

  • Clowning around

Had to share this with you!  It’s my grand-daughter Alyssa in her clown costume that I made right after market, in one day, under pressure, with dottie fabric.  She surprised me by getting that great tie all on her own.  Then she found a hat and added the flower trim.  We had one happy grandma and grand-daughter on Halloween!  Great combo don’t you think? In my newsletter today you’ll find two free patterns.  I’ve included them below,  just in case you haven’t signed up for my newsletter. First up, “Stocking Treats”!  These are so easy to make.  We used some Moda Dottie fabric and of course I have the bundles…

  • All Treats, No Tricks

I rushed home from market to make the long promised clown costume for my granddaughter.  Just finished it last night and we’re all set for trick or treating tonight.  I’ll try to get a few photos to share with you later. As you prepare for the neighborhood kids to come for candy tonight, take a few minutes to enjoy a few eye candy treats from the artists at the Houston quilt show.   No tricks here, just treats! Happy Trick or Treating tonight!
