• Texas…

I’m leaving tomorrow for Texas and I’ll be spending time in Austin with friends!  I’m going to a girls retreat;  you know one of those sew, talk, sew, eat, and did I say sew?  I can hardly wait!  How long has it been since you’ve treated yourself to a little getaway time?  Maybe you should!  Get some friends together, find a place to visit and sew for the weekend. So what am I working on?  I’m going to embroidery a beautiful “S” for the center of my “Confetti“ quilt! My friend Nancy started making this quilt for me several years ago and she can’t finish the quilt until I’ve embroidered…

  • Treasures

I’ve been shopping over at Dreamy Whites and I have to show you what I bought!  I may have to have to start making cookies for the UPS man.  He’s been hauling the strangest size boxes up to the door.  I LOVE Maria’s blog “Dreamy Whites” and I love her decorating style but most of all I just can’t resist her shop. Here’s my purchase this week…this old grape container… The first thing I thought of when I saw it was fabric storage!  After it arrived (UPS man struggled getting it to the door) DH scrubbed it clean and carried it up to the studio for me.  The old Bistro…

  • How many people does it take to make a quilt?

In the case of Raining Cats & Dogs it took 13 people to finally get the pattern ready to ship!  I’m sending BIG hugs and a thank you to everyone who helped me with this quilt: To my husband who’s spent days listening to me go on and on about how it might never get done, to Lissa at Moda who worked miracles in getting me fabric, to Lisa who spent hours helping me with all the graphics, to Anne, Dee, Tina, Sandy, Melissa, and Pauline who helped with the sewing, applique and embroidery in record time, to Lynne who worked wonders with her fabulous quilting, to Florence who’s spent…

  • Gaby’s Quilt

I received the sweetest email today from a girl named Gaby…her mom made her a quilt and she wanted to share a photo with me!   Gaby and her mom picked out my Cream and Sugar pattern.  (Gaby if you’re reading this I’m so honored that you chose my pattern!) Just look at Gaby’s quilt! Isn’t it cute? All the sweet little touches Gaby’s mom added make it really special… …and now Gaby has a quilt that she says goes perfectly with her room. Gaby said that she originally wanted her quilt in the same colors as mine, but her mom talked her into looking at a black and white…

  • Night at the Ritz

I’ve always wanted to make a two color quilt and the new gray and ivory in Puttin’ on the Ritz fabric just called to me! lately I find myself adding a lot of white and gray to my decorating so why not to a quilt? Mooch loves how this quilt turned out.  The minute I folded up the quilt she was on it… Her toes were twitching and she was busy dreaming… It’s no wonder she likes this quilt.  I made it in her colors…gray and ivory.  Ritzy cat for sure! Night at the Ritz measures 74″ x 74″.  Pick your favorite two colors and make one for yourself.    How…

  • Building Blocks in Pink and Blue

Did you know that Mooch’s favorite birds were the inspiration for the pink version of “Building Blocks”? She’s one smart cat… …it was her idea to put birds on this quilt. She’s a bird watcher extraordinaire and a genius when she wakes up from a nap. She may look sleepy eyed but she’s been dreaming and  I make sure I pay attention.  You never know what she’ll dream up next. She’s not crazy about trucks so, for the boy’s version of “Building Blocks” I was on my own.  My husband once owned a old blue truck and it became the inspiration for the boy’s version of “Building Blocks”. See easy…
