• Stocking Treats block eight

Block number eight is from Julie Zaloudek, the second place winner in our Bunny Hill/Moda design contest! Block Eight Julie’s design is the reason you have that tiny ric rac in your embellishment kit! When I saw how she had used it in her design I knew we had to duplicate it. She’s stitched around the ric rac with red embroidery floss for the cutest accent. Here’s her block added to our quilt… And here it is duplicated in our fabric, Sugar Plum Christmas… Julie’s original design had a fabric square behind the stocking. I LOVED the look it added and it would be darling for an individual project. She accented the…

Wish on a star, and you just might find one in your Christmas stocking!  And of course who wouldn’t love to find this sweet little owl standing next to that stocking?  She’s wishing on a star, and wearing her Santa hat at the same time! Block Two Here’s the quilt showing the addition of block number two! …and here’s block two done in fabric… Do you have a favorite method of applique that you love?  Regardless of the applique method you prefer, points can sometimes be a bit intimidating.  I draw my star points with slightly wider tips so it will be easier to…

  • Living Quilt Market Vicariously

It’s quilt market weekend and I’m living it vicariously through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.  You can too, if you put in the hashtags, #quiltmarket or #showmethemoda in one of your apps.  Here’s a picture I found on Twitter just a bit ago.  It’s 2 of my friends, Kimberly at Fat Quarter Shop and Doug Leko from Antler Designs.  Love these two so much!  If I were there, they’d be getting a big hug.  Or, how about this one I found on Facebook saying Moda won 1st place for multiple booths?  1st place, isn’t that great?  See that pretty lady at the bottom of the picture?  That’s Holly, and she’s usually…
