• I’m working on new patterns!

It can’t be several weeks since my last post can it?  I’ve been so busy time is flying by!  I have too many deadlines and I can’t keep them all straight, but the good news is that out of deadlines come new patterns and fabric! Remember the dots? …the ones I showed you in the last post?  I used that orange Moda Dottie on the border of my new quilt!   If you love dots as much as I do I think you just might like this one!  The pattern is almost done and it will be available at the end of October. I’m calling it Pumpkin Pie!  I love pie…

  • Henrietta’s Big Party!

Can you believe this is the final block for Henrietta Whiskers?   Henrietta’s excited and a little bit nervous too.  It’s not everyday that a little squirrel gets to meet so many people!  I don’t think either of us ever imagined she would be so popular. I’m giving you block nine and the final quilt a day in advance!  If you’re spending this holiday weekend sewing,  you might have time to finish the quilt and have it ready to hang for Fall! Henrietta Whiskers Block Nine Henrietta’s busy catching stars and Sophie’s helping! And now that you’re finishing up your quilt (you are finishing aren’t you?) you’re probably wondering what I’ve…

  • Henrietta Block Eight!

I’ve posted block eight of Henrietta Whiskers a little early for my blog readers! Henrietta’s showing off more of her neighborhood this month.  Rumor has it that the people who live in this house feed Henrietta peanuts. And that sometimes Henrietta brings along a friend… or two… or three… …and they all “pig” out together! Good thing I didn’t put any peanuts on this quilt.  Imagine how many squirrels might have shown up! If you’ve been keeping up with the blocks, your quilt should look something like this… There’s only one more block and then you’ll be able to sew your quilt together!  That’s the part I love don’t you?…

  • Happy 4th!!!

Happy 4th of July everyone!  Henrietta’s here a day early to help us celebrate.  I hope you have a bit of time this weekend to get started on block seven.  Two more blocks to go and then we’ll be onto the borders!  We’re so close to finishing!   Be sure to click on the “Sewing with Kids” tab at the top if you have a little free time this weekend to spend with your child.  The first project is up along with some suggestions on how to teach  kids to use the sewing machine.  If you have a child or a grandchild who wants to sew this is going to…

  • Texas…

I’m leaving tomorrow for Texas and I’ll be spending time in Austin with friends!  I’m going to a girls retreat;  you know one of those sew, talk, sew, eat, and did I say sew?  I can hardly wait!  How long has it been since you’ve treated yourself to a little getaway time?  Maybe you should!  Get some friends together, find a place to visit and sew for the weekend. So what am I working on?  I’m going to embroidery a beautiful “S” for the center of my “Confetti“ quilt! My friend Nancy started making this quilt for me several years ago and she can’t finish the quilt until I’ve embroidered…

  • How many people does it take to make a quilt?

In the case of Raining Cats & Dogs it took 13 people to finally get the pattern ready to ship!  I’m sending BIG hugs and a thank you to everyone who helped me with this quilt: To my husband who’s spent days listening to me go on and on about how it might never get done, to Lissa at Moda who worked miracles in getting me fabric, to Lisa who spent hours helping me with all the graphics, to Anne, Dee, Tina, Sandy, Melissa, and Pauline who helped with the sewing, applique and embroidery in record time, to Lynne who worked wonders with her fabulous quilting, to Florence who’s spent…
