• Jelly Beans in red, white and blue

Celebrate Memorial Day with my Jelly Beans sheep in red and blue! It’s my Jelly Beans Mini Quilt using red, white and blue Cottontail Cottage fabrics. Wouldn’t it be fun to make this mini quilt to celebrate every USA holiday? (Get more creative and piece the center sheep in red and blue strips before you applique, then put your favorite party on top.) This little mini quilt finishes at 11″ x 15 1/2″. You’ll find a Cottontail Cottage Fat Quarter Bundle in red, white and blue on my website.  If you order this bundle, I’ll include enough of the brown fabrics to make this charming little quilt.   Happy Memorial…

  • Foxly goes to market

Foxly is ready to travel to quilt market with me!  He’s my newest petite, and he’s so excited to be going to Quilt Market he’s invited a lot of friends along for the trip. Just look at this motley crew of friends!  Really Foxly? Our Foxly pattern will be ready to ship as soon as I get back from market next week.  Foxly’s so easy to make I think you’ll love him.  I’ll actually have a few kits available next month when my newsletter comes out on the 5th. Foxly is bound to make someone happy! FYI, those beautiful hands you see in all of my petite patterns belong to my…

  • Little Traveller

A few weeks ago I received a special book in the mail, sent to me by the Australian artist Simone Gooding.  It’s called Little Traveller, and I’m one of the lucky ones who received an advance copy!  This book is filled with so many cute things I immediately signed up for Simone Gooding’s Instagram hop!  I’m excited because I’m going to make something from her book! I’ve picked my supplies, and I’m ready to sew.  It’s the perfect time to celebrate this book “Little Traveller” because everything in the book would be perfect for a unique Easter basket. My intention is to make something for each of my grand-daughters, but I’m not sure…

  • we have winners!

I wish I could make everyone who entered the Moda/Bunny Hill contest a winner!  There were so many cute stockings it was really hard to choose! And because there were so many great entries I added four runner-ups for a total of seven winners!  I’ll be shipping prizes out all week! So here we go, are you ready?  First place winner is Shannon Cogswell from Fullerton, California Shannon entered way more blocks than this one, each as special as the one before.  I selected her mouse not only for its cuteness but also because it’s going to look so ADORABLE in our surprise mystery quilt!   We’re re-making her block using…

  • Sugar Plum Stocking Treats

If you’re sitting around with not much to do this afternoon, hop on over to my website and click on the “free” pattern page! What is Sugar Plum Stocking Treats you ask?  It’s one of those applique quilts that I occasionally design as a free pattern!  But this time, instead of it being a block of the month, I’ve made it a block of the week! I’m letting you know about this pattern a month ahead of time so you can get prepared!  Print out the information page and materials list.  If you read about it now, you’ll have time to choose your fabrics, pick your layer cake and get ready to…

  • How will I choose?

I knew most of you are talented and good at applique, but I had no idea how many of you are such good designers!  The blocks coming in for my stocking contest are so good I’m going to have to have a committee to help me choose just 3.  Think about it, the stockings are fairly small, about the size of what you might hang on a tree, and the entire block is only 8″ finished!  But what this group has filled them with amazes me! Here are a few that just came in.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I have!             Look at…
