Humming-Bird Babies
I’ve had guests this year in the tree outside my studio window. A mother humming-bird has built a nest! She’s been the perfect guest, going to bed at dusk and not starting her day before dawn. Never complaining when we had torrents of rain and winds strong enough to blow over our fence. She laid two eggs and sat on them throughout all the storms. She’s a good mother and an amazing engineer. She built her nest in a “Y” branch of our tallest tree, with an umbrella of leaves over her head. The storms passed, the eggs hatched and my humming-bird mother continued to sit on her nest, keeping her two tiny…

Acorns and Roses
Two weeks before Thanksgiving and in California we have acorns falling and roses blooming. Feels normal for November. I set off for the farmer’s market this morning with my camera in hand. Our Farmer’s Market is open for one more weekend believe it or not. There’s one more photo I took today… I’m making receiving blankets and burp cloths for my new granddaughter who’s due to arrive in February. Lily will have a new little sister soon! Back soon, Anne

Lily’s at Grandma’s!
One thing for sure, it’s all about baby at Bunny Hill! As I look around there are baby things everywhere. Amazing how these tiny little beings bring such life to a family! Just look at her, isn’t she precious? To say I’m having fun with my granddaughter would be an understatement. At 3 months old she has my heart forever. I wish the smiles, cooing, and blowing bubbles could go on forever. Lily is here until October. She’ll be going on some trips with mom and dad and staying at Grandma’s house in-between trips. I’m in heaven! She’s my new Bunny Hill Baby! Wonder what I can dream up for…

Oh that beautiful bird!
I see an eagle every so often but never in mass. My husband and son saw eagles every day on their fishing trip to Englefield Bay, British Columbia. I hope you enjoy these photos taken by our son. The eagles sit in the trees and wait for the fishing boats to return. When the fish are cleaned the show begins… This has to be nature at it’s best. I would have paid to see this show! Oh that’s right, I did! What we do for pictures like this and a freezer full of salmon… Hugs, Anne
