In My Studio Now
I have some of my favorite fabrics on my studio shelves now. They are calling my name, waiting for samples to be made. It’s Lily & Will Revisited in pink, gray and Bunny Hill Blue. Pretty in pink, Beautiful in blue, Elegant in gray, Put them all together and it’s a Lily & Will Revisited Bundle! I feel like I should order bolts for my own personal stash building, because this fabric won’t come again. What if I decide several years from now, I need to make curtains from this beautiful gray Cottontail Toile? Or, maybe a duvet cover from this Cottontail Toile? And a dust ruffle from this beautiful stripe? Did…

Glitter Houses & Sugar Stars
I love Glitter Houses, and I’ve collected many throughout the years. I have a vintage collection mixed in with new, and my Christmas decorating always centers around these houses. My newest fabric line, Sugar Plum Christmas, has a soft side that you can see when you combine the pink, gray, and ivory fabrics. These are the fabrics I used to create Glitter Houses, one of my new quilts. In shades of pink and gray it’s going to be a shabby chic, pink Christmas! I’ve embellished Glitter Houses with crystals and pearls that sparkle with highlights when reflected in the light. If you love pink and grey as much as I do, you’ll have so much fun…

With fabric colors like Candy Cane Red, Sugar Plum Pink, Icicle White, Gingerbread Brown, Gumdrop Green and Mouse Grey, Christmas will be fun next year! A Trip to Moda
I call the month of August my “Moda home” month because I finally got to tour the home base. I was in Dallas to attend the Open House that Moda hosts for quilt shops. I’ve heard amazing things from other designers who have visited Moda, but I just couldn’t grasp what it felt like until we pulled up to these doors… Moda has 2 main warehouses and you’re looking at warehouse #1, the entrance to “heart” of Moda. It’s the design warehouse and it’s here new fabric lines begin. Look at the boxes of fabrics that had just arrived from a container ship. I couldn’t believe it when Cheryl told me that my fall market fabric line was…

Kindred Spirits has shipped
Moda started shipping Kindred Spirits last Friday! You’ll be able to find it in quilt shops by next week. When Moda says shipping in August they really mean it. UPS trucks are carrying United Notion boxes all over the country filled with Kindred Spirit fabric. Hey UPS guys, the heavier the box, the more Kindred Spirit fabric inside…it’s a good thing! Stack up those boxes on your dolly and roll them right in. As soon as I heard Kindred Spirits had shipped, I started tracking the boxes coming to Bunny Hill. I can’t believe it! I leave for Wisconsin on Wednesday for a week of sewing fun with friends, and UPS…

The making of an aurifil thread kit
Just imagine, Moda and Aurifil ask you to design a small quilt and then choose thread colors to go with it. It’s not as easy as it sounds! The first thing you’d have to do is open up this beautiful color palette of Aurifil threads! Something happens to your heart when you see this many beautiful colors! It’s like being turned loose in a candy store when you were a kid. Then, they tell you to limit your selection to 7 colors. Could you do it? Just look at these gorgeous colors. Don’t you want them all? Last August I took on this challenge and designed a miniature ornament quilt and selected the wonderful Aurifil threads…
