• Purple, Yellow and Orange

Purple, yellow and orange?  Who would have thought these are carrots!  I’ve been munching away all weekend on yellow and purple carrots!  They are yummy!  Amazing thing, when you bite into the purple carrot it’s purple on the outside and orange in the center!  Heirloom carrots?  Maybe!  Farmer’s market carrots for sure and those farmers are pretty smart.  Wouldn’t Peter Rabbit love these? Yesterday Margot from The Pattern Basket emailed to tell me she she designed a quilt using my Lily & Will fabric! I was so excited because  I love everything that Margot does.  She has a great style and sense of design and it was such an honor…

  • Advance Notice

Designing with Lily & Will was more fun than you can ever imagine.  Usually when I’m working with a line of fabric I tire of it by the end;  not so with this fabric.  I think it’s because it’s such a versatile line. Put the baby aside for a minute (carefully and just for a minute) and think about the things you can make for yourself with Lily & Will.  That’s right, make something for you!  Try some pillows, table runners, dresses, totes or how about this “Park Lane” quilt? “Park Lane” is one of my favorite quilts.   It’s so easy you’ll love making this quilt and just look at…

  • Playing With Fabric!

Finally……………… after much waiting, sample yardage of Lily & Will II arrived at Bunny Hill on Friday!  Lily & Will II!   When I opened the box the first words out of my mouth were “oh my gosh, it’s so beautiful”!  The fabric feels like heaven and the colors are yummy; aqua and butter yellow like only Moda can do!    We’ve cut it up and sent it off for samples to be made!  We move fast when there’s only 4 weeks from start to finish!  Pre-market days mean long hours and lots of work, but sewing with new fabric is something we never tire of! What is it about new fabric that we…

  • Color is Everything, almost!

I’ve just spent three weeks pulling together my new fabric line for Spring market.  Along with designs, I’ve surrounded myself with colors in every shade, pulling and eliminating until I thought I might be going nuts.  I’ve been dreaming of colors, and noticing shades and tones in everything I look at.   It’s a process that takes a lot of time, but I finally end up with a few colors that make the cut and get presented to Moda.  I take a deep breath when it’s done.  Then I pray Moda likes my colors and designs. I just shipped the line to Moda and it feels a bit like I sent…

  • Lily & Will II

While you’ve been waiting for Lily & Will yardage to arrive at your local quilt store, I’ve been waiting for sample yardage of Lily & Will II to arrive at Bunny Hill!  That’s right, Lily & Will II! The twins have done it again!  Those sweet little babies are demanding a bit more attention.  They’re so sweet I’d do anything for them, so I added two new colors and created a encore line!  Think of a beautiful summer day and then spread some cheer by coloring everything a beautiful butter yellow mixed with a luscious ivory and soft shades of brown.   Love aqua?  You can have this color too!  Aqua,…

You know you haven’t been posting much when you have to login to get back into your blog!   WordPress is asking me who on earth I am!  It’s me, it’s me WordPress.  I’m still here! Guess what?  Moda has a new designer!  Welcome Aneela Hoey!   Hop on over to her blog and leave a comment. She has such a cute style! I have a feeling we are going to love her new fabric line!  The announcement came from our own Moda Lissa.  Moda Lissa keeps all of the news from Moda locked up in her head until it’s time to spill the beans. That’s right, everything is inside her pretty…
