Hollyhocks & Roses Continues

When it comes to applique, I can barely contain myself. It’s a passion that has taken me through good times and hard times, always keeping my hands and thoughts occupied. The minute I pick up that needle and thread, I feel relaxed and savor every moment!

Rainbow Sherbet:

I always like a small, portable applique project that I can take and quickly pull out to work on. One of our new quilt patterns is exactly what I want. Meet Rainbow Sherbet! It’s 53″ x 65″, and the blocks finish at 6″ x 6″. Rainbow Sherbet is a pieced quilt with four applique petals on each four-patch block. The applique petals are charm-pack friendly and so easy! We’ll have an SVG file available for the petal applique so you can easily cut the templates with your Cricut or other cutting machine.

Iris:

I’ve added another Petite pattern to our assortment of Petites. I’ve named her Iris, and she’s a 5 1/2″ x4 3/4″ butterfly ready to embellish your favorite wreath, garland, or garden trellis. Add her to the top of a present for someone special, hang her from a decorative knob to embellish a room, or hang her from your curtain tiebacks. She’s ready to fly your way, and you can find the PDF Downloadable pattern for Iris under what’s new on our website. The print version will follow soon! As you can see below, Iris has friends who want to fly your way, too!

Abigail:

Suzanne Jackman of Splendid Speck made her Abigail pattern using Hollyhocks & Roses. This beautiful pieced quilt measures 60″ x 72″ and is made from two easy blocks: a star and a square in a square. Imagine this quilt displayed in your home to welcome summer or to celebrate the 4th of July! I love it! I’m always excited when another designer uses my fabric to showcase one of their designs. It creates options I never thought of and allows us to see how versatile a fabric line can be!

Horace’s Hollyhocks:

Wendy Sheppard of Ivory Spring has designed another pattern using Hollyhocks & Roses, and I love it! Horace’s Hollyhocks is 56″ x 68″, and these beautiful pieced flowers make a wonderful summer quilt. Wendy’s used fat quarters and a little bit of yardage. These hollyhocks will be ready to bloom in your house starting in early November. What a fun quilt this will be!

I hope you love all the pattern options for Hollyhocks & Roses as much as I do!

I feel the same way about hand applique and other types of handwork, as well. I can a huge difference in my attitude once I have a needle in my hand.
I’m very anxious and excited about the new Iris pattern. Soon, I hope.
