Make a List for 2018!
Chelsea and I each made a bucket list back in 2011, and I found a copy of it today. Six years later and we haven’t completed much on our list. Chelsea’s still waiting for her pink convertible, and I’m still trying to organize my photos.
The beautiful thing about this list is that it’s New Year’s Eve and we have another full year to complete it! I told her I think we need to review and set more realistic goals for 2018. She keeps reminding me that she’s getting older and wants to update her list with things like a fluffy new bed.
She’s been lounging around today watching me fill up my market basket with goodies to give away tomorrow.
The basket is bursting at the seams, and I can hardly lift it! I’ve been collecting things all year, and there are 12 bags of treats inside! We’re going to pick 12 winners tomorrow, and each one is going to get a treat bag!
All you have to do to win is leave me a comment telling me if you’ve ever done a bucket list. Do you think it’s a good idea to do a yearly bucket list? One that you can review at the end of each year to see how much you’ve accomplished? Do you have any other ideas for organizing in 2018?
Chelsea and I will be back tomorrow with a list of 12 winners.
Happy New Year’s Eve!

I don’t have a bucket list and never have, but if that is something that motivates you, I say, “Go for it”. This past year, my grandson and I were in an auto accident (not too serious) (except for my car, which was totaled), and, as we were being taken to the hosp in an ambulance, the paramedic said, “Well, you can check this off your bucket list”. Ummm. Not on my (nonexistent) bucket list. He explanined that a ride in an ambulance is on many people’s bucket list. Hm. I do make resolutions each year, about things that are really important to me, kind of like guiding words that others have (simplicity, kindness), and my resolution this year is to reduce the amount of plastic I use.
If you want to get motivated with good ideas for organizing things that are important to you, I suggest you visit the Cupcakes and Daisies blog. Thelma had a significant birthday in 2017, and set out at the beginning of the year what she wanted to accomplish (along the lines of travel and quilting), and it appears she had a great year.
I would like to suggest that, as far as organizing goes, you set aside some time for yourself. I imagine that you are one of those women who does so much for others. While that is very rewarding, you may realize at the end of the year, that you have supported others but haven’t filled that spot in yourself that needs refreshing.
As for Chelsea, a fluffy new bed sounds perfect. And so do-able. Yea! An easy accomplishment!
In any case, I hope you and your family have a wonderful year, and I want to take this opportunity to let you know how much I have enjoyed using your patterns and fabrics. Best wishes in 2018!

Bucket list is much more positive that resolution list. I will rethink and rewrite now.
