Twinkle Toes
Have you seen the newest girl’s quilt at Bunny Hill? I’ve named it Twinkle Toes and it’s from my new fabric line Lily & Will Revisited.
The idea for Twinkle Toes started the day my grand-daughter Alyssa came running up to my studio to show me her new pointe shoes. She could hardly wait to put them on!
She’d worked so hard and waited so long to get these shoes. The shoes were magical and her excitement was contagious!
I’d been working on quilt ideas for my Lily & Will Revisited fabric line, and watching Alyssa dance around my studio in those shoes, put the idea of a ballet quilt in my head! I went back through photos of her as a little girl, dancing in all those beautiful dresses. When I found the perfect one, I used it to draw the ballerina mouse in my quilt.
Twinkle Toes is off to the quilter next week and then to my photographer. It won’t be long until we have a pattern for this quilt. I love how the quilt looks and I can’t wait to see it quilted! The borders were fussy cut lengthwise, to take advantage of that beautiful cottontail toile fabric. The quilt is feminine, girly and perfect to take center stage in a baby girl’s room. It’s a quilt to be handed down from generation to generation. Picture all those little girls in their tutu’s! Watch them dance and you’ll feel the magic too! We’re taking pre-orders for Twinkle Toes kits and more on our website for the next two weeks. They’ll be shipping sometime in May, as soon as the fabric arrives from Moda.

Absolutely precious! Brings back sweet memories of my daughter and dance classes. Wish she would have a little girl one day because this would be so fun to make!

I remember when I got my pointe shoes. It was very exciting. Like your granddaughter I had worked very hard to be able to dance on Pointe. Congratulations to her. The quilt is adorable.

That is so adorable, as is your granddaughter. What fun to be dancing on her toes! Love the polka dot ears on the dancing mice :)
