A Trip to Magnolia
I’m a true Magnolia, Joanna and Chip Gaines fan. I watch the HGTV show Fixer Upper (new shows start November 29th), I’ve subscribed to their newest magazine called The Magnolia Journal, and now I’ve finally had a chance to visit Magnolia Market, the destination in Waco that Chip & Joanna have created.
Just after our visit to Moda , Karla, Barb, Mary, Doug and I drove to Waco. We arrived on a Wednesday amid the pouring rain, but we were told we were lucky. The shop looked busy to us, but apparently it was slow compared to weekend and non-rainy days. The staff told us that people are usually lined up around the building to get in! Of course we didn’t even bring umbrellas to Texas, so the hotel gave us plastic emergency rain bags to wear. And Magnolia had staff stationed outside with umbrellas to help escort umbrella-less tourists like us.
Magnolia is wonderful! It’s filled with so many great finds it was hard to decide what to buy, but I fell in love with this sugar mold.
… It now sits in the center of my cutting table and holds everything I need, including my rotary cutter. It’s available on the Magnolia website !
Here’s a peek at what awaits you inside the store (next two photos courtesy of Barb)!
And here we are under that famous Magnolia sign!
You can’t leave without a visit to the Magnolia Seed & Supply store. It was my first introduction to Fairy Gardens!
I fell in love with the fairy gardens and inside the seed supply shop they sell all the little accessories needed to make one.
Before we left we had to make a stop at the bakery! They have a beautiful patio just off the bakery…
…and even in the rain it’s the perfect place to eat one of these famous Magnolia cupcakes!
Thank you Chip and Joanna for creating such a wonderful place. We had such a great time!

I would love to go there!!! I wonder if they knew that they had quilt celebrities in their midst?

Looks like an awesome experience–on my bucket list, for sure! The fairy gardens are especially adorable–I think I may need to have one next summer!
