And The House Became a Home
Sometimes I’m inspired by unexpected things. I’ve been watching house renovation shows like “Love It Or List It” and “The Property Brothers” on HGTV. They got me thinking about what makes a house a home, nesting, and how much love we all put into our homes. Soon I was sketching out a quilt and “The House Became a Home” was designed. It’s a 36″ x 40″ wall quilt you can personalize to make it your own.
The fabric is the beautiful French General “La Fete de Noel” line from Moda Fabrics. It ships to quilt shops in July and I’ve included the fabric guide below:
House Became a Home Fabric Guide
The pattern includes a complete alphabet so you can personalize it to your heart’s content, add names or initials to the banner or hearts. It’s the perfect gift for that new couple just buying their first home, or for someone celebrating an anniversary. Of course it would look beautiful in your own home.
The pattern will be ready soon and we’re doing the final proofing this week. You can pre-order the pattern now on our website. We’ll also have some kits available when the fabric ships in July.
Hope you’re having a great holiday weekend! It’s been a crazy one in our area. We have farms nearby, and once a year they open for cherry, peach and nectarine picking. Cherry season is happening now! Because of the lack of rain, the trees have fewer cherries. The cherries on the trees are large and very sweet, but the scarcity brings the crowds . This is what one of the main roads past a cherry farm looked like yesterday:
People were everywhere trying to get to the wonderful fruit.
I went to the local farmers market instead and bought some cherries there. Then I bought a treat for Ross (hubby); 2 pieces of fresh Sea Bass. We’re barbecuing it tonight along with fresh corn and veggies for me :>) What a great way to enjoy the holiday don’t you think?
