APQ Quilt Along with some “Tone it Down” Sashing
Do you remember these quilt blocks?
I have 19 of them completed and waiting for me to add sashing! 19 scrappy quilt blocks from the February, 2014 issue of American Patchwork & Quilting magazine.
Whoa baby, these blocks are a little busy! I think it’s time for me to bring in the 9 patches…
…and some sweet, sweet sashing!
The 9 patch sashing posts are from the chestnut color fabrics I used in the center of the 19 blocks. And then came the sashing…I put the blocks on the design wall and this little dot was just what I needed to tone down those busy blocks. It’s from the same “Plum Sweet” fabric line that I’ve used in all my blocks. Can’t you see this fabric made into long billowy curtains to match the quilt?
If you’re making this quilt, be sure and share your version by adding your photos to the Flickr group! I’m going to finish my applique block and then go on to sewing this quilt together. I’ll be back next week to show you how it looks, AND I’ll give you the applique pattern in case you’d like to add it to your quilt. You can find all my blog posts for this quilt by looking under “categories” at the top of my blog, and then clicking on “blog hops”.
Back soon!
Anne

I went to Flickr and although all the quilts are amazing, I really do like yours the best. It’s going to be just beautiful! I can’t wait to see the finished quilt.

Awww, so sweet! I love polka dots and try to put some in every quilt I make if I can.
I love your blocks and the fabrics!
