Quilt Market,  Quilts

It’s a Moda Blog Hop!

Hi everyone and welcome to the second day of the Size Matters Moda blog hop!   When the Moda designers get together we have a great time, and hopefully you will too!  You’ll end up with blocks you can piece together to make a quilt designed by Moda!   It just doesn’t get better than that.  Free blocks and giveaways on every blog!  You’ll find the blog hop schedule at the end of this post so be sure and visit the scheduled designers each day.  Posting along with me today are the girls at Basic Grey and Sweetwater

We’ve all been assigned different quilt blocks to work with. and I couldn’t believe my good luck when I found out mine was the Puss in the Corner block, aka Kitty Corner block.  It’s the perfect block for me, and my Bunny Hill crew was excited about it too! They all wanted their picture in the quilt.

My Puss in the Corner block soon became a Puss in the corner, Pooch in the center quilt.  Oh the excitement around here when they saw it!

The Puss in the Corner block is simplicity at its best, and it’s really fun to play around with different sizes and variations.  Here’s a quilt using 12”, 6” and 3” blocks:

Or, how about this quilt just using the 6” blocks but changing the color of the rectangles?   Oh Puss in the Corner you’re such a great block!

Here’s the link so you can make this block:  Directions for Puss in the Corner Block

Of course I had to have fun and make up a block or two using my newest fabric line Celebration.   I played around with the 3” and the 6” blocks, added a kitty in the corner and ended up with a red & white quilt that I’ve made into a free pattern for you!

You’ll find the free pattern below, or on my website.  Think you’d like to make one just like mine?  We’ve made up a few kits so you can!   You’ll find them here on my website.

You might win a bundle of Celebration for Boys or Celebration for Girls just for visiting during this hop.  Leave a comment and you’ll be entered.  I’ll announce the winners on September 16th.  That’s also the day you’ll find the quilt assembly pattern on the Moda Blog!

Here’s the blog hop schedule so you can follow along.  You don’t want to miss any days!  Who knows what you might find?

The first two quilts that I quilted on my new sewing machine were your fabrics!! I did them for my two grand neices and the whole family loved them, especially since I had used the alphabet panels and put their names on them. Thank you for making our family happy and getting me started on the way to a fun life of quilting.
